Quotes.

"The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources."

Albert Einstein

Progress is made by lazy men looking for easier ways to do things.

Lazarus Long in "Time Enough for Love" by Robert Heinlein

"The merit of originality is not novelty; it is sincerity. The believing man is the original man; whatsoever he believes, he believes it for himself, not for another."

Thomas Carlyle, On Heroes, Hero-Worship and the Heroic in History.

All truly wise thoughts have been thought already thousands of times; but to make them truly ours, we must think them over again honestly, till they take root in our personal experience.

   Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

What a good thing Adam had. When he said a good thing, he knew nobody had said it before.

Mark Twain

Thanks and credits.

I think of my self as a Renaissance person, and I think that truly there are no ideas, just new combinations of old ones, like new combinations of notes make a "new" song..Mystress.

I have been reading all manner of spiritual, psychology and self help books since I was a child, hanging onto the ideas that resonated and forgetting the ideas that didn't, to deliberately shape myself, my personality. I was an unusually wise child... tho rather socially inept.

When I started school, I was very frustrated that my teachers did not understand the value of daydreaming. In Grade 2., I had discovered that reading was a Teacher approved substitute for daydreaming, and I promptly disappeared into the world of books.. which even then, I preferred to television.

I learned self-hypnosis from a book in Grade 6., and after that the self creation process was more conscious.. tho not always wisely chosen. Hypnosis is a lot of power to put into the hands of a child, even an awakened child.

The other major book influence that year, was "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" by Richard Bach.. It set me free by showing me that there was Spirituality outside of Roman Catholicism. It sent me into an altered state, a Kundalini experience that I still do not remember fully.. but I remember I lost time, about 2 hours sitting under a tree after I finished reading, and I was walking around in a strange trance afterwards feeling love for all creatures.

This began a path of seeing the Truth in Fiction, and the Fiction of Truth. Hypnosis taught me that my reality was shaped by my thoughts, and fiction taught me how profoundly real the reality of ideas could be.

A Zen duality: Truth is stranger than fiction: Art imitates life: Life imitates Art. An oroborus Serpent loop where profound truths are encapsulated in story and Myth, while science de-constructs itself against it's own limits to understanding.

Since I was 12 I have known that my mind stores every idea I have ever come across, every memory, every word. All these become the food of creativity, mixed and blended into my unique perspective... the notes of the melody of me.

I have observed the similarity of wisdom from different cultures, and how information feeds on itself, cycling round and returning with a new face and name. How the pyramid of Maslow's Hierarchy of evolution is resonant of the levels of the Eastern Chakra system, which is resonant of the Hebrew Kaballah, which is resonant of the ancient Egyptian Sun worship mysticism.

I am not even unique in making these observations.. inspired scholars like Joseph Campbell number among my influences. He is best known for his talent at finding mythological similarities between different cultures and analysing them in a Jungian format.

Unfortunately, my mind is not always so reliable about remembering where I first got the ideas.. thus, my ironic choice of the Einstein quote to open this essay. I don't try to disguise my sources, I just don't always remember them. When I have read so many teachers who all say the same thing, whom should I give credit to? Where do ideas come from?

"We are the transmitters of thought, not it's originator"

Itzhak Bentov

I do a lot of channeling, connecting thru my Higher Self, the heart voice and the Fire Serpent.. and these sources tend to speak through me using the metaphors and language they find in my own unconscious... in the library of encyclopedic information I have tucked away in the filing cabinets of my mind.

I see a unity in all higher wisdom. I see the Serpents of the Caduceus, the rod of Moses, the Rainbow Serpent of the Australian Aboriginals, the Feathered Serpent of the Maya, the Serpent on the Tree of Eden, the Serpent Mother of the ancient Matriarchies, the spiralling double helix of DNA, the spirals of atoms and Galaxies, and the Fire Serpent of Kundalini as all different manifestations of the same sacred spiral of life energy in manifestation.

Kundalini means "coiled". All creativity comes from Goddess, so ultimately, She gets the credit for all that I do. Blessed be!

Thus, it seems apropros for me not to list credits, so much as to give credit to the brilliant minds whose books fed the "Elephant's child" (Rudyard Kipling) of my carnivorous curiosity about the nature of the human experience.

With great gratitude, I choose to "Honor the Ancestors", by providing this "Honor Roll" list of the inspired minds whose books influenced me the most. This list will probably grow, as I remember more of my influences.

Some names I have mentioned already:
Richard Bach
Joseph Campbell.
Rudyard Kipling
Carl Jung
Albert Einstein

But there are many others who had profound effects in guiding and shaping my consciousness:
   Robert Heinlein
   Ray Bradbury.
   Louise Hay
   Patricia MacKillip
   Shakti Gaiwan
   Milton Erickson
   Wilhelm Reich
   Itzhak Bentov
   Robert Anton Wilson
   Deepak Chopra
   Issac Assimov
   Frank Herbert
   Stanislav Grof
   Osho

   And the Artists:
   Kate Bush
   David Bowie
   Marc Chagall
   Rubens
   Stanley Kubrick
   Emily Carr

I also want to thank my clients, for all the growth and experience I received working as a Pro Domina. That was truly an education in the fundamentals of human nature that money cannot buy.

Thanks, to my beloved slaves and Priestesses of the Tribe of the Fire Serpent, who not only assisted me with editing and link-finding for this project, but who were also the guinea pigs for some of these ideas being field tested.

Thanks, to the members of my Kundalini email lists, who were the original inspiration for the "Shaktizap online" experiment that became the Grounding site, and whom have shared so much wisdom with me over the years I have been managing the lists. Channeling answers to their curious questions, helped me to understand how much I know.

Thanks, to Virtual Space, for their expertise in the field of streaming video.

Thanks too, to all of the people who have rejected me for my oddness, in the course of my life, and who kept me moving onward, till I found the place where I belong.

      Blessings...
