Hi--

I'm a pretty new member here.  This has come up in meditation for the last two days, so I'm thinking I need to deal with something.  But I'm not sure what.  When I was about 10 years old a friend and I found a very interesting cave.  The cave had all stone walls.  In the back of the cave there was a natural stone ledge.  The stone above the ledge was covered with scratches (which at the time we thought were Indian hyroglifics.  I have since come to realize they were scratches.) Under the ledge was a hollowed out area a person could crawl into.  I did.  Another time I brought a candle and crawled in deep.  There was a whole room back there.  A room with a tunnel leading off.  Another time I decided to explore the tunnel.  When I got my candle into it I saw it only went back a few feet, so I crawled into it backwards and touched the back wall with my feet, then I skeedadled out of there and I never went back.  It was so scary.  In retrospect I realize that was bear's den.  Several years ago I saw a Nova special about bears and it showed the inside of a bear's den.  My cave had the same steep hump that prevents young cubs from crawling out.

A few years after that I had a huge head injury that left me in a coma.  When I came out of it I was mute and paralyzed.

A few years after that I heard a friend talk about how he was trapped in a cave, how cramped and black it was.  I was absolutely terrified to hear that.  At the time I thought my terror was related to my accident.  His description of the blackness and of not beinging able to move reminded me of come back to consciousness.  Yesterday, I felt that terror again, and I wondered if perhaps I had been buried alive in a past life and was still carrying that fear with me.  Today it occured to me that I might have picked up some sort of entity in that cave.  I think about it and it seems the first possibility, fear of coming out of a coma, is the most likely.

The reason I think this is an important issue is that it interfers with grounding.  I adore that grounding ritual Mystress created.  I absolutely love the feeling of being grounded, but it's getting harder and harder to do.

I would appreciate any insight or help with this.

Thanks

Paris

Interesting post, Paris. I think what you are dealing with is claustrophobia. I cannot think of anything more claustrophobic than being trapped in a body that cannot move or speak!

The original trigger might have been the birth experience.

Caves are often metaphors for the unconscious and the underworld. In mythology, caves are the doorway to the world of the dead, and there are often dragons... or bears!

Do a visualization of the lower grounding cord. Imagine you can fly into the earth to examine it. Ckeck that it is straight, clean and firmly connected to the fiery crystal. If it is not, then adjust it or ask your Guardian Angel to fix it.

Keep surrendering the fear. Your coma was big trauma, but you will transcend it with patience and persistence. Blessings!

:My mother did tell me I had a very difficult birth.  My mother is a very small woman, and I was a little bigger than adverage.  Labor was long and difficult, and when I finally popped out I didn't breath for eleven minutes, so the doctor did a "Little Jack Horner" with my butt to get me to breathe.

Hmmmm, maybe I have something to work on there.

There ya go, constriction/suffocation in the birth canal, left its imprint on the body... but it is coming up so Goddess will release it!
