Monquie

Greetings, everyone!

I thought I'd just introduce myself briefly to let people know who I am, since you'll be seeing my name in the chat room and in postings...

I am a 34 year-old woman from Cape Cod, married (just this past summer), with two dogs and a cat.  I am a fourth year student in psychology (getting a doctorate..a very looooong project), and have great interest in how psychology and spirituality intersect (and are to me, frankly, the same thing).

I first began to experience K energy when I was 18, and a sophmore in college.  The energy remained quite active for three years, until I went onto anti-depressants to combat the depression and suicidality I was also experiencing.  The medication really helped me pull my life together (graduate from college, get a job, not kill myself, etc.) but I also connected starting the medication to having a significant decline in K experience.

Now I have been emotionally stable (more or less) for the past 13 years while taking meds, but have had very little awareness/experience of K energy in my body.  For a long time I didn't really care about this...I didn't miss it or anything.  But then recently I experienced a resurgence of energy in my lower chakras which has led me begin thinking again about this aspect of my life.

I hope that this course will help me to reconnect with my Soul, with my DB (whom I met in visions a couple of times when I was in school, only I didn't realize who this incredible guy was), with my Heart and Divine Love.  I hope that those of you who are further along in this process will be patient me--I feel like a complete beginner, despite having had a K awakening 16 years ago.

I feel privileged to be among you seekers, and to have such an astounding teacher as Mystress Angelique to learn from.

Love,
Monquie (Elizabeth)

hiya Monquie (Elizabeth),

welcome to the TeaRoom, i'm glad you introduced yourself... you signed with 2 names, do you have a preference for which you like to be called?

also, it is an unusual spelling for the first name... is it pronounced the same as "Monique"?

warmly,

percyval

: :   Welcome, Elizabeth the monkey.. :)

Yes, "Monquie" is pronounced "Monkey"...Very circumspect of you, Percyval, the way you hinted around that question.

I was nicknamed Monkey by my father when I was a baby...it seemed appropriate as a child because I was always climbing up on things (countertops, trees, shelving, etc.).  My father is a silly kidder, and likes to turn things into "french" spellings (he spells Fido, "Phydeaux"), so naturally he changed Monkey to Monquie.  As it happened, when I met my husband HE began to call me Monkey as an endearment without knowing that this was also my father's nickname for me (I am fairly certain that I do not have simean features, otherwise this could have really given me a complex!).

When I joined this course, "Elizabeth", "Monkey", "Betsy", and even (I'm fairly certain) "Elizabetsy" were already being used by other people, but nobody was using the name "Monquie".

As to what name I prefer--Elizabeth, thank you for asking.

Thanks for the welcome!

Elizabeth (the monkey)
