The Bloggers Board

Blogger types have a space here. Start a thread with your name as the topic and keep adding to it. Your post will still show up on the new topics list at the bottom of the main page and under the "Show unread posts since last visit" link, so they will not get overlooked and members can still respond, but you will have a little space to call your own. Room for everyone!  Of course the individual subject of each post can be as you like.

I was updating the FST welcome email today. While editing the Tearoom info,  when I got the idea to add this new Bloggers Board.

Some FST members do not post at all, I do not hear a peep out of them until I get a grad essay.

Some post rarely when they have a question or issue, and disappear again.

Some members like to post often about their discoveries and experiences. Some post often because they need more support with their growing. I love to read the Tearoom and encourage people to post. When the topic list for a board, becomes dominated by one persons posts, it looks off to me,  especially if those posts do not get a lot of responses. Other members posts get pushed down, might get pushed off the bottom of the list. Displaced.

In the past, when I noticed a member was taking up a disproportionate space on a board threads listing, I would suggest they start a thread with their name on it, and keep adding to it instead of always starting new threads. Start a thread of their own to use as a blog. New additions to a thread send it back the top of a board thread listing anyway, so their post won't be lost or forgotten when its 3 pages deep, but it does not keep taking up more lines in a board topic listing.  I did not want to discourage anyone from posting, just reorganize it a little.

Anyway, I thought, why not open it up as an option for anyone, right on the board instead of explaining it in the email?

Journaling has always been a part of FST, and while a blog thread is not a replacement for the lined paper journal you carry with you, I do find it lovely to read someones progress through the course documented like that.

If you would like your previous threads you started, consolidated to one topic here, you can request it. Send me a pm of the urls and dates of all the threads you want to consolidate and give me a bit of time because its kind of tricky to move stuff around.

How would we know if we're a blogger type? I'm a frequent poster but most of my posts are under this latest vampire topic and Depression and Grounding. I do like to share, so if you think I should start a Zephyr thread, just say the word. :)

The idea is also for the comfort of members, I know some people get insecure feelings wondering, "am I posting too much?" and the answer is usually "no."  When it is "yes" it is more about organization (taking up space on the board listings and pushing down other member posts) than content. I like it when people share about their process.

So, I formalized the suggestion and made a space for the blogger types.  I think one thread that is someone's journey through FST is fascinating reading. I don't really want to be making the decision of who needs to take it to a blog. If it makes your heart happy, then go for it.

I think this is a fun idea.  Mine would probably ramble..  :)
