House spell question

HI everyone,

Next week I start the House Spell lesson. Currently I live in my dad's house so I'll just do the spell for my room as I don't have the permission of my parents to do a spell on the house. I am going to be moving to my own place sometime this month and it looks like my mom will be staying with me for a while. Question: can I do the house spell on the whole house or should I just focus on my personal spaces? Mom will be chipping in with bills, but I will be the one paying rent. I don't want to mention anything about a house spell or house blessing to her because she's a fundamentalist Christian who seems such things as woo at best, Satanism at worst. Unless anyone can find a good way to bring it up? I want to protect my space but am unsure of how to proceed. Thanks.

Well there are a few different ways to handle it. For my guest room I put a "normal space" bubble that sort of adapts to what is normal for the guest. Shakti doesn't come out in the wash though and that used to be my bedroom, so I am not sure how well it works. There are a few spots in the house where I spent a lot of time, like where my desk chair used to be, that can make visitors dizzy.

With my housekeepers I set automatic for them to be enclosed in a "your normal space" bubble the moment they came in the front door that dropped off them when they left. I had a lot go crazy before that, strange emotional outbursts and they would flee. Too much karma coming up. Even with the bubble, one developed a strange insistence on doing my laundry and she wrecked some stuff before I finally had to fire her. I realized much later it was probably handling my clothes gave her a charge that got past the bubble and she rationalized it to herself, however.

Its funny, I always feel it is polite to bring a gift when I stay with someone, on my travels but never knew what. The luggage allowance for international is tiny and I just don't know what people will like. Last trip I figured it out. What they want, is my stuff. The shirt off my back, the sunglasses off my face, the necklace, the scarf... Stuff I have worn for a while picks up a shakti charge that does not come out in the wash, it may be eternal. I like to shop for clothes and stuff on my trips, find weird stuff I can't get here, like silk blend thigh high stockings from Italy, or leather ramones runners from London, antique linen from Sweden... its fun but I end up with overloaded luggage and have to ship stuff home.  So instead I'll just pack stuff I am not too attached to, give it away when it is admired,  and come home with a different wardrobe than I left with.

Probably the best thing in your situation is to call on your mom's higher self to participate in the creation of the spell. Her higher self wont have the same religious issues as her human self but will know how to tweak it for her comfort.

A curious thing, I take visitors to experience it sometimes. During the most intense part of my awakening and shaman training, I lived in Kitsilano. I wept to move out when the place was sold and slated for demolition. I carefully took down my house spell when I left... and then the building itself was bulldozed... but when I had occasion to drop by, looking for mail, the second I stepped off the sidewalk onto the property I felt the spell still there. I cleared it a dozen times over a period of years and finally realized it was out of my control. The site had become a sacred place. I hope the people who live in the new place enjoy it!

So it looks very much like I will be moving to a new town at the end of the month. I am excited, because I will be close to a major medical centre and specialists, not to mention the city has more social/cultural/intellectual opportunities than rural Newfoundland. I am wondering what I need to do with the current house spell, if anything. Should I ask my  Higher Self to handle the energy?

Thanks

Hmm I thought instructions were included in the lesson?

Anything you imagine will work really but I use a modified tornado vortex to spin the spell away up into the sun (like Dorothy on her way to Oz,) if its temporary, but I move my house spell from place to place because it gets stronger over time, plus it is home to some interesting protective spirit beings.  I packed my house spell into a quartz crystal when I moved away from Kits because I would be transient for a while. The rest of the time I just mentally teleported it to the new location, adjusted the shape. size and gave it back to Goddess.

I sometimes also do a ritual purification before moving in and after moving my stuff out of a place.

The basic is you walk counter clockwise (widdershins) around each room, scattering salt (usually sea salt is preferred for magic)  with the intention that the salt is going to suck up and contain the negative energies like febreeze for karma. Then you go around each room with the broom (besom) in a counter clockwise direction sweeping the salt into the center and gathering it into a bag. Cleansing in thought, word and deed.
If I am moving in, I do the cleanse before the house spell and if I am moving out I do it after the house spell is removed.

Disposing of the salt: ideally you give it to Goddess by dumping it into natural flowing water, lake, stream or sea. These days, microplastics. Polyster fibres are among the worst so either vacuum the floors before you start, or dissolve the used salt into water and run it through a paper coffee filter or tight woven fabric layers, to remove the garbage  before giving it to Goddess.

Do not dump the salt into the earth because "salting the earth" was a Roman act of war, destroying fertile farm land so nothing would grow there anymore.

Goddess is forgiving of disability so if the best you can do is dump the salt down the sink with the water running while doing the Goddess chant, it will find its way to the sea eventually. That is what I do when rinsing blood from re-useable pads.  (for the first rinse, I don't chant the whole 90 minutes of the washing machine cycle after. It's kind of a token gesture in some ways but it rewards emotionally. )

Thank the house for its shelter and warmth, etc.

I think I would like to move my house spell with me. How did you go about packing it into the crystal? I have a dark Newfie amethyst that would work well. I don't think I can do the purification as the logistics won't work out. Perhaps there is a mental purification ritual I could do?

Mystress

I only packed it onto a crystal because I was going to be homeless for a few months, travelling around, couch surfing. My stuff was in a storage locker, including my house spell. If you are moving directly from one place to another, you can move it with your imagination.

Quartz crystals have some specific vibrational properties that make it preferred for some crystal magic work, and in the mechanism of some expensive watches.

You just imagine the house spell sucked into the crystal like toon vs vacuum cleaner, and run the film backwards when you get to the new place.

With all magic, thought, word and deed makes it strongest but thought and word alone are pretty powerful too.

That's exactly what I had in mind!

I also had the thought that I could cleanse the space by burning some sage. Should I burn it clockwise around the apartment or widdershins? I was thinking I could keep the quartz containing the house spell in the velvet bag with my sacred herbs. I got the smudge kit from my aboriginal women's group, so the bag holds women's magic too.

WhimsicalZephyr

Well, I accidentally told my homecare worker to pack the medicine kit. But I was adamant with her to not pack the crystal. Guess Goddess wants me doing it toon-style....

When I moved in September, I put the house spell in a quartz crystal and transmitted it to the new place. That being said, I'd like to take the time to go through the formal house spell ritual again because thought-word-deed works better than visualization for me. I have a question. I live in an apartment, so I'll be using the pillar spell. Mystress, you say to start with the north corner of the apartment. My apartment has two north corners. North-east and North-west. Should I start from North-east? And I'm guessing when I smudge the apartment I should do it clockwise, yes? Thanks in advance.

WhimsicalZephyr

I should make it clear that I ran the visualization in reverse, toon-style when I moved into the new place.

Mystress

Clockwise condenses energy for use, widdershins dispels it. Sage is for banishing so widdershins but it really does not matter.

WhimsicalZephyr

Thanks, Mystress. Does it matter which corner I start from?
