I am currently reading lesson 5 - Aspects of Consciousness.

1) Mystress states: "...there are two parts of your Conscious Mind. There is Consciousness and there is Ego"

2) Mystress also talks about 'the Veil' between the Conscious and the Unconscious.

While reading this, the question of 'How does this relate to discernment?' popped up repeatedly.

Any clarification on this would be appreciated.

  In huna mysticism they describe consciousness in 3 parts, what we would call ego, bodymind and spirit. Bodymind has direct connection to spirit, ego does not. In Jungian term, the unconscious does not experience separation from the other levels of the unconscious, the collective, the All that is the One divine unity. Only ego experiences that separation. Discernment is spirit speaking to ego via body.
