Thank you, Gustaf. Selling files and ebooks is usually done through a different service, clickbank.com They have an affiliate system built in.
I hope your party is great!!

Gustaf

Will check out clickbank as well.

We will post a lot of pictures and videos from the party. :)

Sorry to keep you waiting. I was expecting to get some important information regarding my job situation today – I have asked to be allowed to take on some extra responsibilities - but that was delayed. I am definitely not the co-writer or companion you need. I am not English, so I miss many of the subtle messages in the English language. Nor am I experienced with the kind of writing you need to do. Who would want to read a dull scientific book about kundalini? I am also fully occupied with a fulltime job which doesn't pay and a lot of extra jobs which I need to earn a living for me and my family. And if I get these new responsibilities the will consume much of my time this year and the next. Still I think your book would really make a difference and I also believe even a short first book might make it easier to engage a professional. Therefore, and as the situation is, I would like to contribute, if there is still a need, although it will be a slow work. Therefore, I would suggest a short book. As far as I can judge, the book on The Secret to Finding Your Self would be the most adequate for you to present yourself to a bigger audience.

  Sounds cool.

Are you volunteering to edit a book for me? Coz I am spread really thin already.

Yes, 4g of email archives from 11 years kundalini counselling, I have several books already written if they could be edited together... but contacting the people I was writing to, to get their permission is nearly impossible because people change email addresses so often. Their comments would have to be paraphrased.

I am not good at editing my own work, and the older the writing the harder it is, because I stop seeing the words, I skim from memory ... ADD again, always looking for the new thing, don't want to go over the old thing, don't want to repeat myself rewriting the old thing in new words...  That is why the FST update has taken 3 years and is not done yet.

Book writing is so difficult for me compared to web, that I even tried to trick myself, with the Kundalini-teacher.com site. It is a book in the form of a web site... and still incomplete. In fact, last time I looked at it in manuscript form I realized how massively incomplete it is.  The title is Kundalini Awakening: the manual.

My biggest failing as a teacher is that some stuff that seems like common sense to me, isn't common at all. I assume people know stuff and go from there, and sometimes they just don't know at all! So the book has huge holes in it, where I make assumptions.

I have had people try to edit my work: either they are sensitive to the energy and get so blissed out they cannot think, or they are not sensitive and squash it flat trying to be concise and all that, as if I am writing news copy.

  Other books I started writing:

Frog into Prince: a women's guide to the selection, care and training of husbands.
  Coping with Empathy.
The Secret to Finding Your Self.
A dating and personal care guide for men that doesn't have a title yet.
plus, eventually a version of FST will be a book. Maybe even a DVD.

----------------------------

So I took a break from writing and got a wierd idea... if I put up K teacher as a wiki on FST then maybe anyone interested could help edit it and point me where to fill in the blank spots?

You are right actually.  The title of that book is sort of a joke... to me at least. The secret is, the Self is Nothing! The silliness is, look in the mirror... there you are!
In the middle is a lot of personal development excercises, etc. to help people shuck external opinion and discover what they really want out of life.

However, the title is also max keyword hits on global search engines.  It is one of the few projects completely inspired by marketing forces.  Intended as an ebook, for affiliate sales actually.  A challenge to myself, to write for mainstream, without mentioning Goddess or Kundalini. Maybe why I abandoned it.., or because of some distraction, cannot recall. Thirteen pages and an outline so far... far from complete.

Here is a post I wrote about it, to the K-list in 2005:

Holly, you are so brilliant, and funny!

I've been working on an ebook for the past few weeks. A rather
commercial venture called "The Secret to Finding Your Self."  Haha, as if I
know anything about it.

The Mystery of Mystress is I have no idea who I am and I find it
pleasant. I find I am better off not knowing than when I thought I knew but
I was mistaken.

It was inspired to do the book because "I want to find myself"  ranks
high in keyword searches, and because I have been doing a lot of soul
retrievals lately. Folks telling me "I dunno what to do with my life, it is
so hard to make decisions, I feel lost..." etc. I take a look and, what's
yer soul doing over yonder? Put it back, and then they often burst into
sobbing... and the emotion is joy and relief!! Then they get a new sense of
direction and off they go! It is fun to watch.

But there it is again, "my" soul. Who is the I that looks at the soul?
The self is the Self and it is not knowable, indefinable even when it is
experienced.

In the now, soul is part of the navigation system, along with
discernment and witness observation.  Objective and subjective study you
get some clues abut what you maybe came in for, get a sense of purpose...
it is never certain unless you are delusional.
Life would be boring without the surprise parties....

So, the book has some exercises to get to know yourself better and to
clear away some of the familial and cultural programming, stuff like
that....plus soul retrieval... but the real secret to finding yourself is
to stop looking and enjoy life. People who are happy and busy rarely stop
to wonder who they are. It simply doesn't occur to them.  I am me, who else
would I be? Silly question.

I have been reading around the site and these 2 posts about money and a too thin stream of it coming in. I deeply sympathise with this at age 52 I am currently unemployed, I resigned from a design job and a boss that was killing me (literally) and I now find myself in a tricky position and feeling like no'one will employ me again - I tried to get some physical low profile work too - but I find people even don;t like to risk that because they think I'll drop out as soon as something better comes along - so it can leave one feeling in a strange space and a bit desperate at times...so sympathies. If I get myself employed in the not too distant (and I've applied for so much, from brain surgery to lavatory cleaning!) I'll send what I can as a donation.

Vyana wrote about a small book - I agree - a short book, a distillation of all your years of learning would be a great starter project rather than battling so hard with so many projects, some of them probably more like encyclopedias from the sound of it. On the basis of a neat little handbook reaching a lot of people rather than a weighty tome reaching only a few.

I recently shelled out £230.00 to go on a 2 day course here in the UK (it was really excellent and I in no way felt short changed) and these people also sell an ebook and other things......thought I'd just put the link here, may not be relevant, but might give you some ideas as to how much other folk value what they have to offer........also "Tiffany Snow" she seems to have a good line on marketing....just ideas:

www.eat.energyawareness.org/
www.tiffanysnow.com

and thanks again very much for being here.....by the way, isn't really important, but when I signed up for the FST course I believe I chose to have a CD copy (in case the videos didn't work, well in fact they do, the RealPlayer works on Mac OSX fine) - So, I don't need a CD - i paid a little extra for it, but not the new price for the FST course - so can you just keep the difference and not send the CD...thanks

P.S. You have had lots of interesting suggestions for helping your work bring you back a more fair exchange. I forgot to say if you need any graphic design doing - maybe I could help a bit.

Chrisseb

Hi,

On books:
Have you read Brad Warner's "Hardcore Zen, Punk Rock, Monster Movies & the Truth about Reality"?  (www.hardcorezen.com)
Inspirational stuff - Brad basicly tells his life story from "punk rock dude" to "punk rock zen priest" - in a colorful fun way. Dispensing helpful info/tips on "zen" or life in general. The lack of overly philosophical "zen mumbo jumbo" is very pleasing. Straightforward, simple and funny.
I've read too many "spiritual" books to get easily excited these days ;). I wonder why i keep buying them :D It's a big market...

On coin:
Yes, up the price! :)
I've always wondered why your quality services and the quality course has had such a low price :). Must say that I've enjoyed it after spending mucho dollars on reiki stuff.

I sincerely hope you get a book out, if you want to - and get money flowing in that way as well. I think it should be fun to read your stuff. You have much wisdom and dispense it with humor & honesty. Thanks! :)

Love,
Chris

Zak

Howdy - I have recently come back to the course and it is time for me to pay up, but the "renewing" link in the navigation bar is broken.  Would anyone be able to point me to the right page?

And, fwiw, 150 loonies is still a bargain.

Thanks,
Zak

Mystress

Thank you, Zak.  The link works now.

I've been sort of postponing updating the new member and renewal form because I am in the process of putting all member info into a database in preparation for installing membership management software that will handle adding new members and tracking renewals automatically.  Especially as the web form becomes increasingly unreliable as more people use hosts with proxy servers.

Database entry for 300+ members is mind numbingly dull work!!

Lady C

:)  I can help with dx entry anytime...I'm a very fast typist.  If you're too close to done to give it to me now, think of me next time!

Mystress

That would be cool but ... it is all the members confidential contact info.  I feel members have a reasonable expectation that I'm not going to show it to anyone else.
Mind you, the guy who is doing the software installation will be working with the completed database, not many options there.

The course is reasonably priced when it works properly.  I think I joined years ago at the $88.00USD but I had a lot going on in my life at that time.  I rejoined recently at $150.00USD. Now I am trying to use Real Player and it does not work.  I have a new Macbook Pro and I have tried downloading old versions and even using the audio version which does not work either.  The Kundalini links 3 are not working.

I understand that times can be tough financially.  I have put my first husband through medical school and I was a single mom who homeschooled my daughter.

As I said before the price of the course is reasonable the sessions are VERY expensive.  It is the same price someone would pay for you as a Pro-Domme $175.00-$200.00 per hour.  Now a pro-domme has a dungeon, equipment, clothes etc.  A phone session can be done in one's pjs.  Perhaps if you charged less people would come back and do more sessions.  But the cost is prohibitively high for most people even people with an income.

I would consider what is fair pricing for your sessions and course.  I had a telephone counselor; she made $60.00 per hour and I thought that was expensive.  She had no formal training as a professional just read cards and spoke off the cuff.  Now she was an intelligent woman but she was not worth $60.00 an hour which breaks down to a $1.00 a minute.

I have counseled people as a Minister/by a legally recognized church in the US and not by mail. I did not charge anything and I counseled hundreds of people.  I did not get gifts, tributes or love donations.  I did not have a lot of money either.

If you give more for less you will have more abundance.

Mystress

MaitresseX has been removed and refunded, her response was to call me a money hungry whore!  Wouldnt I have kept her money if I was money hungry? *sigh*

edward

I was irritated at her already from when she registered and before her post. My intuition was right!

Now, I can't believe that one week from now, I'm gonna meet Mystress!

Ed

Mystress

and I get to meet you too Edward! I am really looking forward to this workshop, so many FST students, going to be wonderful!
