Situation...;

A car alarm goes off and there is annoyance. There is resistance. Imagine yourself as turning transparent, and see that the even has 'nothing to hit' there is nothing to resist it. It passes through you...This he calls surrender.

I would like to know what people think of this.. i have tried it and it is effective, and akin to surrender. Perhaps there are some issues or some traps this may bring, and if anyone can see that i would be interested to hear.

Thx!

If it works it's good.. ;) I think it's a good one to start with and especially when feeling a bit cranky. Another one that helps0 is that any time I feel annoyed (and be conscious of it) I will say to myself that I am annoyed and accept it. In a way the not resisting the annoyance makes the annoyance to be unable to get anything to hold on to which is pretty similar turning transparent. Maybe different sides of the same coin?

Yes, thanks :)

The razors edge of accepting and not identifying is tricky...
Identifying essentially is not full acceptance? Would you agree?

  Eckhart Tolle is good stuff.

  Identifying: "I am annoyed."
  Accepting: "I feel annoyed."

You are not your feelings, they come and go like wind.

         Transparency:

The Litany against Fear, from "Dune":
"I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain."
  ~Frank Herbert.

Yes! Im feeling it. All you have to do is be conscious and that is enough.  Tolle is really good stuff. Like a SAS crash course in spirituality.! And i love that quote.

Eckhart Tolle is a great read. I recommend his book A New Earth, I have the cd set. He speaks about the ego and the many tricks it uses to get us to identify with it. One of my favorite lines although I cannot remember if he is quoting someone else is "if you are so enlightened go spend a weekend with your parents"

Heh heh!!! Yeah, that's the truth ;D One evening is usually enough, sometimes even a phone call to push my buttons. My both parents are spiritually awakened, father is K awakened for sure. Still we do have our issues. We get along better than 10 years ago though.
Well, I don't have to leave my home to be reminded that I'm not enlightened. My downstairs neighbour and my sons tantrums are enough ;D

I could read these books too. Thanks for the tip!

How would Tolle's 'Pain Body' be translated to FST terminology?

The body of karma, that one identifies with..?
And in itself seeking more life energy to keep it alive.

Would it be the shadow?

The shadow that needs to be loved and accepted to transmute the karma?

Hi Lexx,

Been meaning to thank you for your reccommendation. Read three of his books now, Practicing the now, A new Earth and Stillness Speaks... very insightful literature really helpful, sort of sits well with this course.

I would like to reccommend to the group a book that I'm half way thought at the moment called: The Fall by Steve Taylor... here's a credit from Eckhalt Tolle on the book...

' An important and fascinating book about the origin, history and impending demise of the ego, highly readable and enlightening'EckartTolle

My ego really doesn't like me reading this book... bringing loads of subtle/hidden stuff up for me to surrender, I finding the more that I become aware of, the more I fall from grace if I don't *live* the truth of what I'm finding. Goddess is synchronizing events so that I can truly experience these subtle ego traits... Its an amazing read.
