FST was down for a few days because my root domain fire-serpent.net was hit with a dos flood attack on Sept 2 that knocked out the web host's entire network for 3 hours.  The site could not be brought back online until the vulnerability had been closed and a new server built.
No idea if the attack was random or targeted, but we are back up and I do not think any posts were lost. Yay!

Yay, back up! Perfect!

Felt sort of empty when an error appeared the last days, on tryin to access. Then emotions of great confidence occured,  like in N.Young's song: '...it's only castles burning'; ultimately we are on our own anyway; but then You have a  great catalysing effect, in the sense of: "more haste less speed"(which seems to maintain its exact meaning while re-arranged: 'more speed less haste', anyway main thing the picture stays clear :)

For the question, if it might have been an accidental attack,  i'm quoting an excerpt from:
wikipedia

QuoteUnintentional attack

This describes a situation where a website ends up denied, not due to a deliberate attack by a single individual or group of individuals, but simply due to a sudden enormous spike in popularity. This can happen when an extremely popular website posts a prominent link to a second, less well-prepared site, for example, as part of a news story. The result is that a significant proportion of the primary site's regular users â€" potentially hundreds of thousands of people â€" click that link in the space of a few hours, having the same effect on the target website as a DDoS attack.

News sites and link sites â€" sites whose primary function is to provide links to interesting content elsewhere on the Internet â€" are most likely to cause this phenomenon. The canonical example is the Slashdot effect. Sites such as Digg, Fark, Something Awful, and the webcomic Penny Arcade have their own corresponding "effects", known as "the Digg effect", "farking", "goonrushing" and "wanging"; respectively.

Routers have also been known to create unintentional DoS attacks, as both D-Link and Netgear routers have created NTP vandalism by flooding NTP servers without respecting the restrictions of client types or geographical limitations.

Similar unintentional attacks can also occur via other media, e.g. when a URL is mentioned on television. If a server is being indexed by Google or another search engine during peak periods of activity, or does not have a lot of available bandwidth while being indexed, it can also experience the effects of a DoS attack.

Legal action has been taken in at least one case of an unintentional attack. In 2006, Universal Tube & Rollform Equipment Corporation has sued YouTube: massive numbers of would-be youtube.com users accidentally typed the tube company's URL, utube.com; as a result, the tube company ended up having to spend large amounts of money on upgrading their bandwidth.[15]

From here an 'accident' seems rather unlikely! Another darn new kind of warfare and a very old issue too, i guess.

The whole DOS-affair reminds me strongly of someone having the key without a driving licence ...and no identity plate on their car. I felt posssibly, probably facing my own karma, which i eventually decided to forgive(forgive myself). So the Shadow prevents such to happen where 'dragons be'.  In 'real life' i think it's a matter of our own responsibility on this level, with free will to make the right choices:  to learn how to drive and learn to identify(attacks and attackers for instance).  Low level business i once felt too  haughty to deal with.
Feeling gratitude for the personal who fixed that attack on Your domain, and Yourself -- was certainly a load of annoying stuff!
So i think, fighting is not out(of consideration). I once thought it was because of modern high tech destruction implementation; in unison with the pacifism propaganda(around the M.Ghandi figure-head -- who wasn't that pacifistic btw,  just gave the English a demonstration of his influence among his people).

Tried to be a pacifist with good intentions and abstaining from any deployment like martial arts. Thought my position to be logical and any one else 'should' share my views (than peace had to ensue).
Has changed and is changing thanx to Your teaching and trolls like those attackers :)

On another level(of consciousness) i feel an urgence for applying trust to people:  general trust including  toward the d.o.s. psychos, because it is by lack of experienced trust that people become untrustworthy, psychotic.. . It may be the level protected by Portal Guardian, where unconditional love IS.
So possibly, we can totally mess it up by denying and applying trust just in the wrong places?
Falling victim to our homemade pro-trust and anti-trust lessons: our darn concept of 'lesson'(love of limitation) at all.

anyway, thumbs up!

Sigmund

Glad it's back.  Thank you for your efforts.  I prefer being closer in touch.   ;D

No apolgies necessary: shit happens. Glad you're back online.

It's good that things are up and running again.

During the downtime the paranoia came over me, and my mind started to fear that maybe Mystress had left the
physical dimension and taken the whole FST thing with her.

I played with this idea, that there was no Mystress anymore, and I found out that Goddess always find a way to
give me spiritual advice through other mediums.

Anyway, I'm very happy that you are here Mystress.
