I'm having trouble accessing the video files. It doesn't want to connect to the server. I know there was a problem with the server recently. Thanks for any help.

Mystress

Apologies.. Virtual space has been having server troubles lately. first they moved their server to a different connection, then all of their intel chips died a painful and messy death, and are currently being replaced on warranty.
Let us pray for the souls of the dearly departed intel chips.
Vid service should resume in a few days.. sorry for any inconvenience..
   Blessings!

:   Apologies.. Virtual space (... ): all of their intel chips died a painful and messy death...

Did they overclock their chips? (make them work at a speed higher than intended by the manufacturer...): that's slavery!

I am joking but only partly since I am in the middle of a process of building a brand new computer (that will run on Linux: good bye Microsoft Windows! Good bye to Intel too because I will not use a Pentium3 processor but an AMD Athlon processor that is more performant and cheaper than its Intel counterpart... ): overclocking and chip reliability is an issue that I have been facing (I will not overclock my chips precisely because I am afraid that they'll die a painful and messy death...).

:    Let us pray for the souls of the dearly departed intel chips.

That sounds humoristic.... but I know that you are serious too...

I remember your post about the mind machine, an amazing account of your encounter with the collective consciousness of all the machines we use everyday, including of course the computer we are currently using to read this message...

In this course, there is also a lesson about grounding the computer, protect it form surges of energy and assign guardian angels to them...

When my computer crashes (only several times a day!), I often think that there is a metaphysical reason to it and remember that, indeed, my computer is in some way conscious.

Lately, I have not been spending much time on this course. :-( Sorry teacher!

Instead, I've invested dozens and dozens of hours trying to learn everything I need to know about hardware and computer technology to build my own new computer that will run happily under Linux.

I noticed that to do so, I use intensively my male/ logical/ mental side... No wonder that the Linux community, the hardware retail people I meet, the technical reporters whose hardware benchmarking articles I read...  are mostly men.... So many acronyms to understand and learn by heart, figures to take into account, strategic choices to think of... Until now, I knew nothing about hardware and when a few months ago I plugged my new printer, it was for me a major achievement... ;-)

Yet, I have been thinking how to make better use of my female/ intuitive/ emotional aspect in the process. I noticed too that I naturally used visualization techniques to figure out how all the different pieces (of hardware but also of information) fit together. Also, when I go to bed late at night, with the head full of new acronyms, data and questions, I feel tired and helpless about where to find the up-to-date information I need to understand it all... A bunch of messy data is flying around in my monkey mind. I surrender it to Goddess, as a present, thank you very much. When I sleep my unconscious/ female side takes over but I don't remember anything. The next day, I find some important piece of information that I needed to achieve a deeper understanding.

Of course I am fed up with Microsoft Windows... yet I am not running away from it as much as I am running towards Linux. I put a lot of Time, Attention, and Love into my new box which is slowly gestating. Though I have never used it, I notice that I have a much more loving attitude towards the whole Linux community: besides the wonderful Linux kernel and the wonderful softwares it supports, there is a wonderful community of Linux users who thrive by helping each other. The mood of fellowship is incredibly sweet. A nice break from this otherwise selfish and individualistic community... :-)

To come back to the idea that  computers have a consciousness, I have come across an interesting tip from a Linux user which in a way can be related to that idea. As Mystress explained, computers are conscious because we, who create and use them, give them consciousness, because we interact with them as if they were conscious beings... That user explained how, once you have your new Linux operating system up and running, you can get rid of the no longer necessary Microsoft operating system and take your vengeance at the same time for all the troubles and suffering Windows caused to you!!! Yes, instead of simply reformatting or erasing the disk partition which includes windows, you can behave as if the windows software installed on your machine has been a conscious being who took delight in crashing your computer just for the purpose of irritating you: you can take your vengeance by running an application  that will overwrite each byte of (now useless windows) data on your hard drive with random, equally useless, bytes of information, just so that you can have the pleasure to observe windows die a slow and painful death... I don't know if that user has any kind of metaphysical or spiritual belief, yet his (unconscious) premise is that Microsoft software have (an evil type of) consciousness.

I must admit that I have been tempted (but only for a few seconds) to follow his advice. Fortunately, I realized very soon that the suffering inflicted would be real.. and would eventually come back to me, one way or the other...

I wish to all of you to have a happy, harmonious and fulfilling relation with your computer...

Blessings,

Augustin

P.S.Mystress, I remain at your disposition for our promotion project. Email me when you want. :-)

P.S. 2: The hardware line up I am thinking of for now would be based on an AMD Athlon1Ghz(133) CPU monted on an Soltek SL-75KAV(133) motherboard (not the most up to date - does not support DDR SRAM technology but seems to be a good cost/performance compromise, according to what's currently available in Taiwan - where the said motherboards are actually build).
Does Druid have any comment about that? ;-)

re-reading myself, I notice this statement that could be misunderstood: Of course I was not refering to the Fire Tantra community but to the world society at large.
Of course too, I realize that the selfishness and individualistic attitude I perceive in the society is but a reflection of my own... I was merely speaking from a lower chakra point of view.... ;-)

Love,

Augustin

No, I was kidding, actually.. for all I know, my shaktizapped videos killed them.. Don't know if I rememebered to put a bubble on it.

Spank you!

kewl!

My druid is a linix geek..he swears by it.. Windows works fine for me! Anyhow, as a web designer, I have to stick with the common denominator, to know how my sites will look to other people. I have some pretty expensive programs, like Photoshop 5 and Homesite, that would not work on another platform.

Yes, they are conscious in that sense.. but also in the sense that everything is conscious.. it is all Goddess.

LOL!

My sense of the computer mind, was that it ws a slave who might enjoy suffering for you.. if indeed it did suffer.. I didn't get any sense that it had those kind of nerves. Mostly, it is responsive in other ways.. positive energy makes it run well, negative energy makes it crash.

 Have fun!! Do your homework!

:-o   Once more I am passing for the fool that I am!!! :-(
Over the last year or so, I've read so much stuff you wrote that sounds so amazing that I am now ready to believe anything (that's probably not a good sign, is it?)!

: for all I know, my shaktizapped videos killed them.. Don't know if I rememebered to put a bubble on it.

Errr.... And now, Are you kidding or not????

 Ouch! :-(

: : Of course I am fed up with Microsoft Windows...

Certainly yes, but a more "rational" explanation is be that my box is old and the memory (both rom and ram) are stretched to their upmost limit.... It's about time for me to get something a bit more performant...

:   Have fun!! Do your homework!
:      Blessings..

When you speak about "homework", I guess you don't mean about Linux but about this course... Ok, I'll try to make some time everyday to study and practice the material of the course... like I did in the beginning ;-)

I wonder if other classmates have what I would call a "mid-course blues"...

Blessings to all,

Augustin

I think it is nice that you have faith in me. I don't see anything wrong with sending a kind thought towards a dead computer bit. Any blessing gives back karma bonus points. :) I was kidding tho. As it turns out, the problem may not have been with those chips after all, but from too many program updates leaving a lot of partly funcioning old files lying around. The chips were replaced before this was discovered.

Umm.. not. Shakti really is hard oncomputer parts. Twice now, in the chatroom someone has had the chat screen acting erratically till I reached out to put a bubble on it. The K-list server used to crash and act up all the time from the shaktizapped posts, before I put a redirect filter on it. There is a very practical purpose behind putting the bubble spell for computers near the beginning of the course.

The correct response is "Thank you Mistress, may I have another?.. Gratitude makes pain into pleasure.. but then, you are not a mascochist..

Nice to see the tea room active again!
