In my church there is a rather esoteric teaching about something called "the second comforter."  It is rarely spoken about, and it seems no one knows what it is.  I believe the Second Comforter is the same thing as the Divine Beloved.  God dwells within you as you.

I read a book about Shamanism among the Buryat peoples of northeastern asia.  The shamans often had Celestial wives.  These Celestial wives were noted for their extreme compassion and tenderness.  I believe the Celestial Wife and the Divine Beloved are the same thing.  God dwells within you as you.

Once I saw a man
turn himself into a horse
it was really quite amazing
and the horse he turned himself into
was young and strong and furious
the horse was full of anger
and frightened off disease
the horse was full of fury
and the lame bolted in terror
the horse wore the mark of death
and barren mothers gave birth
the horse screamed in wrath and anguish
and heavy clouds broke
once I saw a man
turn himself into a horse
and if my faith
had been in my eyes
I never would have seen it
