Grounding Meditation

Greetings everybody!

I'm very excited to be part of this course.

Regarding the 8x per day for 45 days grounding meditation, how much time needs to be devoted each time to the grounding for it to be effective?

For example, if I devote 10 minutes to the full meditation once every morning, noon and night, and simply connect to the visualisation 5x more during the day with breathing while going about my mundane actitivites until I feel connected, would this be sufficient?  I'm wondering how this 8x 45 days is affected if I'm not doing the "full" meditation each time.

Can I feel this visualisation as often as I want during the day or is it much better to do it exactly 8 times?

Also, I am visualizing (feeling) Sun energy as water flowing down on an in breath, and Earth energy as fire rising on an out breath.  Is my in-out breathing association optimal?

Thank you very much for any insights you may have.

Blessings,

Nadine

Hello Nadine, I always breath down and can feel myself moving down more with that type of motion, and so I pull down the sky energy as I breath out, and breathing in feels more upward to me, so I breath in the earth up through my feet... but I'm sure either way works. One of those personal things. But perhaps there is a right and wrong way... I'm not sure entirely. :) Sounds like you're doing fine to me though!

Peace,
  Keith

Welcome, Nadine!

Do it as often as you like.  8 x 45 is not a mystical number, it is simply how often one needs to repeat an action so it becomes a new habit. Although, some students have reported getting wonderful gifts from spirit on attaining the goal. :)

Get in the habit of always being grounded, and getting grounded when you notice you are not.

It is natural to be grounded. Usually within a few weeks it becomes pretty effortless, you think the word "grounded" and your body responds, your energy opens and flows. You start to notice when you are not grounded. After that it starts bearing gifts... but you still have to keep doing it.

Get grounded enough to feel it, 8 times a day and set aside time at least once a day to get really deeply grounded, fill yourself and stretch your ability to handle energy.

: Also, I am visualizing (feeling) Sun energy as water flowing down on an in breath, and Earth energy as fire rising on an out breath.  Is my in-out breathing association optimal?

I tend to think of the outbreath as the laser beam going into the earth, and I breathe in the volcano that erupts... but sometimes the opposite, exhaling out my head. Do whatever feels comfortable for you. Also try detaching the visualization from the pacing of breath. Breathe naturally, and focus on the visualization itself, taking it slow and observing it. Letting it deepen till every fingertip and cell is peacefully buzzing.

Instructions on the one breath grounding come later, for now focus on keeping your crown open and your feet tingling.
 Blessings.

Thank you so much, Mystress, for your response.

I love this meditation so much and the "grounded feeling", I want to connect to it often (to have it be permenent would be bliss!!).  I'm glad to have the confirmation that "what works" is what's best.  It's opened up a lot of great things for me so far.

I experienced a wonderful full body tingle when I read about "detaching the visualization from the pacing of breath" (see advice below); during my special time set-aside for meditating, I'll deepen the visualization (it's already becoming stronger and stronger!) and surrender the breath.

Also, I'll focus on keeping my crown open and my feet tingling. I love the flower visualization!

Thanks again, and have a wonderful week!

Hi Keith,

Thanks so much for your help! I have to admit I'm getting very comfortable with my breathing pattern!

Also, I read of several philosophies that spoke of different "chakra" patterns for women and for men ie. counterclock wise for women and clockwise for men, etc.  And therefore the breathing exercise patterns had to be inversed for men and women...  but I have no factual experience to support the above.

I'd be curious to know if healthy chakras really spin differently for men and women, but that should be another post I guess!

Thanks for the encouragement!

Blessings,

Nadine

Hi there!
That's an excellent point! Perhaps our differences are due to this reason. Perhaps you are right! I dunno for real if they spin or not... I can't really feel any spinning motion, and I can't see them to tell what I see. If I did, or ever am able to, I'll tell ya! ;)

Nadine

Perhaps also due to the expression "breathe in blue - breathe out red".  I associate blue with sky, red with earth.

Am not associating the meditation so much on the breath anymore, more on experiencing it.

Nadine

Really enjoying the visualisation of drilling into the earth with the out breath now, and sucking up the in breath, it's clearing out a lot of blockages.

The in breath occurs through the nose, the out through the mouth.

Still feeling like the flow is in both direction though.

Also, many thanks for the work being done on my bodies.
