Help!  I am stuck in the root chakra, and I do mean that literally!  My avatar is wedged underneath this sort of railing thing that goes all around the platform that the chakra sphere sits on.  I've tried running out, flying out, walking out and teleporting out, and I can't.  I even tried shrinking myself down to zero height and that didn't work either.  It looks like I am trying to swim.  This is kind of embarrassing, earlier someone came by and stared at me!  It is also really funny of course.  I guess I'll email secondlife for support, but if anyone has any suggestions here, please do let me know.  I've been there since yesterday despite logging on and off several times.
Thanks!

never mind....somehow I have finally freed myself! :)
Dave, weren't you saying how this can mirror real world issues?
how funny.

Hi Jen,

Too right...I'm learning so much about myself already through my Avatar, I've ventured deep into SL and its amazing, you can live your fantasy's even sexual fantasy's if you want, all in a safe environment.  The bizarre thing is it brings underlining, real emotions up to the surface to be surrendered.

I surrender the whole experience of SL everynight, along with the rest of my rl stuff. When I return to SL  I find myself more sensitive to the energy's behind the stuff there.

Great experience last night...met, along with others that where there, Mystress's shadow, manifested as a Shaman Avatar called Armand ( I think I've spelled it right). This really overwhelmed me, he went into detail about the shadow (death) and loads of other stuff. His Aura was so dense and a little scary I suppose, but I was fixated by his questions and answers.  Left me feeling incredibly centred and spaced out. This experience really took a lot out of the Mystress, if I had known this I wouldn't have asked so many questions...sorry about that. At the end of the meeting, after Armand had departed we all retrieved our karma from the Mystress.

It just gets better on every visit...so if you haven't tried it yet, I truly recommend the experiences...

There are many sl clients besides the one sl offers by default.  Sl made their client opensource a while ago so geeks are testing and experiementing.  I even came across a page where someone tested making a version for the blind.. which I find hard to imagine but had wondered about before, as we have blind students in the course.
Biggest thing you can do is upgrade or install a good graphics card.  There is a new one just came out, by Nvidia. $200. on sale at London Drugs. After installing it I had to go around and change stuff on my builds because everything looked so different. So much more beautiful! No more brown sunsets.

That is funny, and I do not know why I did not notice you there.  Also, sort of impossible. What looks like a railing is actually a completely solid transparent wall that encloses the edge of the platform *because* I have gotten my avie stuck on a railing too.  Teleported out... so I guess Goddess wants you to pay more attention to your root chakra? That stuck/ swimming anim does not look very grounded eh? ;)

I am growing in exploring SL too. As a Shaman, I have a Divine Beloved and a Shadow guide.  The Shadow guide has been with me all my life, in various forms.  He has come into secondlife because he has things to show me... which is both exciting and dreadful to know.

I was more than a little nervous to bring him out, he is a very tough teacher!  His sl manifestation does not completely match my internal/mirror vision of him because I found he wanted to be updated for the space. I haven't got it right yet... I started with a David Bowie avatar shape but and tweaked from there but I have had to start over a few times when he complained I'd made him too girly.

I used to cross dress goth and take him out to fetish parties... but this was the first time he sort of took a form outside of me with other people and it required some really intense concentration to pull it off.  Usually he is an internal face and voice, and appears in my mirror games.  I did not know it would take so much out of me.  It is like Jennifer said... "the demon takes on all of our sins..."  and the fallout of that lands on the vessel.  Worth it though, no regrets.  It was fascinating for me to watch, from my place in the back seat.
Thanks for taking your karma back.

He is a ghost in sl, does not make friends, does not appear in search. He may show up now and then... don't try to seek him out.  Here is a pic of how he looks at present anyway.  Amazing how lifelike an avatar can be eh?

So glad you all are enjoying. :)

I am intrigued by how multimedia sl can be... possibly some of the videos and audio mediations can be formatted for sl too.

Do you know how to implement the sounds?  And are different ways of playback possible? (Like one-shots, loops) and its range and volume in the 3d environment, etc?

( offers this -

"Second Life supports in-world sound clips, which can be played to all residents within range. The maximum time any clip can be is 10 seconds, requiring longer sounds to be stitched together. There are various LSL functions that can be used to play sound clips, as well as a built-in system for gestures. Uploading a sound clip costs $10l, and the clip must be compatible with SL. As the Knowledge base says, "Valid sounds are any .WAV file in standard PCM format, 16-bit/44.1kHz/mono or stereo (which will be converted to mono anyway), less than 10 seconds in length. (9.99 seconds is fine, but 10.0 will fail to upload.) Sounds cannot be saved as 8-bit, 22.05 kHz, or any other frequency. Sounds in other formats can be converted in most sound programs. An example of a free quality converter is r8brain. There is currently no support for compression formats such as MP3."

Quoted from http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Sound_Clips

There is also Audio Net Streaming into SL, usually used for Music and DJing and concerts and lectures. - different animal entirely.  Web Broadcasting into SL is supereasy, once you learn web Broadcasting.  in SL its simply a link to any broadcasted stream.

As for Video, SL supports and uses QuickTime Streamed Video and can play most any link published online.  Provided no access or copywrite issues stop you from linking to it.

Ummh, ...Yes :)

He comes astonishingly near to the angel made of tin in a song i once listened to.

The writer of that song can have some black humor as well:

Once they went into an orkan while approaching Boston where they had a performance.

And Mitchell feeling she having to calm her crew, said: "look guys, we haven't performed there yet, so deity won't admit that we crash", and she got the effect(Her people calmed and they didn't crash ;)).

An episode unforgettable as the above is Mystress pain (Maybe you'll have to key in: 'europe' and '2006')

What this black humor seems to articulate is, that one can be tempted to fall from grace, but that this needs not necessarily happen. That airplane crashes and pain in genera,l are part of Goddess' boot-kicking' arsenal and that there is no such thing like 'chosen people': anyone can fall from grace! On the other hand anyone has the choice to live in that grace.

Guardian angles are at work, but not to the degree as to prevent those kicks, that pain(and that's not always(or never) mannah or hosiannah :o).

Shure, black humor is not for everyone, but i think it can be a form of shaktipat; bet that Joni's crew consented strongly during that hell to her "joking"?

And bet that i'm over the moon with your picture from France, more than ever?

The second resemblage with Armandt, i find in a former soccer player, Guenther Netzer, who does a used to one another co-moderation with a reporter for many years, during top soccer games(world championship, european championship etc.) You won't expect it maybe in sports commentation, but there is some magic between those guys, with irony, slight personal attacks even with certain vulnerabilities, on that certain level they challenge one another, as if as a compensation for not playing on the field.

Last time they had a few more guests and spoke about nervousness about the actual soccer game: as a trainer, as a commentator and so on...
Netzer said he was nervous, too.
But not for the game, but for the other guy's person!
This is not usual, but Delling(the moderator) took it obviously with consent, though not without some flushing embarrassment. They obviously zap each other in a loving consensual way.

So, if s.o. has no Shadow Self as a guide, they can still have at least a 'Netzer' ;D

btw Armandt's  avatar, nice wedding dress, He's wearing!

cheers,

juergen

I once had a crashy beta version from sl on my anyway crashy puter(be aware of pc chips motherboards i can tell you...), so have a look at this; Windows itself appears to be quite stable since xp...

Blossom

I am having troubles with my SL viewer. When I log in all I see is the sky (when everything loaded perfectly beforehand). Tried cache-clearing and other suggestions found on the SL forums. I suppose it's okay - I don't really do much on SL and I can still chat. :)

Blossom

Nevermind! I sorted myself out. I had to re-install an older version of the viewer because it seems that my laptop is a bit outdated for the new graphics.  :P
