Effects of grounding exercise. HELP

I am doing the grounding exercise since 3 days 8 times a day, the days before I did them 2-3-4   times a day.

First 2 days of doing the grounding 8 times a day, I was in a super high mood, a friend of mine asked me if I have taken drugs, and if so what it was, she wants that to.
Just 1 or 2 hours later this thick heavy tiredness came over me and my mood suddenly was very low.
I am fighting an inner fight. There is a part of me that does not want me to do the grounding exercises and gets really angry with the rest of me when I keep on doing them.
Sometimes it feels like heavy rage, like a dangerous animal which is cornered, sometimes like a stubborn little child having a big tantrum (more often the first than the second of this 2).
It does not happen only with the grounding exercise, but as soon as I commit to something. (like studying for my exam)
With studying more often than not I give in to the angry part, with the grounding exercises I kept on doing them (because I really want this).
It is not just feeling a bit moody, but this part is questioning everything- even telling me it is bad for me to go to the exam, or doing the grounding exercises, somewhat in the lines: what if doing those things will heavily harm you?

There is a painful, vulnerable spot in my back, somewhere between heart chakra and solar plexus, sometimes a bit lower down the spine, it does not feel very dimensional (nothing physical). It is even more present since I am doing the grounding.

Sometimes when the tiredness comes, I am taking a 30 minutes nap (I know from the clairvision work I am doing since 4 years, that it helps to go through the state between being awake and sleeping), but when my timer wrings, the spot in the back will just pull me back to sleep and before I can really be aware of it, I will fall back to sleep and wake up 2 or 3 hours later.
It feels like a tunnel which is in the place where the spot in the back is, through which I am drawn back in, back to sleep.

Do you have any inputs or help on this?

I am on the lessen " Testing for Groundedness" I went a bit quicker , because most of the stuff in the first lessons was not new to me at all, I am a spiritual seeker since I can remember.

You've got a lot going on, Iris.  You mention a pattern about getting resistance whenever you commit to something.  I'm not looking for answers here, just putting a couple of things out for you to consider.  Is this how the --- in your family deal with commitment?  Are you overworking yourself?  Are you getting enough sleep, exercise, proper nutrition, fun?  Are there things you need to do prerequisite to all the things you seem to be filled with?  Have you seen your chiropractor lately?  Gotten a massage recently?

While there may be esoteric explanations for what you're going through, I work up from a biological level, (Maslow's hierarchy) when I'm problem solving like this.  In checking these areas, I sometimes find the ounce of prevention so I don't later need a pound of cure.  I also do lots of surrendering/letting go and asking Goddess for specific help.

If there are esoteric explanations for what you're going through, having a safe, secure place to live, enough food, exercise, fun and friendship will give you a solid foundation to hold whatever the changes will bring.

Sigmund offered some really good advice here. I would like to offer a slightly perspective.

A few years ago I had a similar experience to yours. Every time I did the grounding (or even worse, kriya yoga), I would feel intense discomfort or anxiety.  The ego had all sorts of stories and dramas created around it, as of "why" there was discomfort and anxiety..

This discomfort and anxiety was the very issues themselves that the grounding and Kundalini was working to dissolve.

When you talk about a part of you that doesn't want you to do certain things, gets angry etc, it means you have a split within yourself. Virtually every human being has this ego split. Shoulds, should nots, and all sorts of other judgements and attachments.

When you ground yourself, there's an increase of flow in your energy, which will in turn very clearly point out to you where your issues are. I'd look very close, super close. Who is this part  which gets angry, and angry with whom?  You don't have to understand it intellectually, that may lead to more confusion.

Instead, try this:  Every time you do the grounding excercise, pay attention to what you are feeling. When this discomfort arises, also look for thoughs that come with it. Like judgements, things you should do, should not do, must or must not do etc. Then you can do two things. Either surrender them to Goddess. "Goddess, please take this, it is all yours, thank you very much" Breathe in deeply, focus on your tingling feet for a moment. It breaks the pattern. Alternatively, you can simply remain as you are for a bit and just look at the judgements and the anger and allow it to be there. It will dissolve if you aren't fighting it. The cornered animal is probably your ego as well. Watch the thoughts and the emotions as they arise. Feel them from your heart, give them some space for expression. If they haven't dissolved at this point, surrender them to Goddess.

Look at all of it, including the want for the grounding. The ego will make up all sorts of stories and excuses.  Let it!  But don't take sides against or for anything. Surrender or watch it all.

Sigmund also seemed to hit right home with you having a lot of things going on. I tend to do the same thing quite often.. Overdoing my life, too many projects, too much commitment.. Maybe giving yourself a break is not a bad idea. :)  You can ask my wife about that.. Or Mystress. I've had a intense spiritual seeker drama, to whip myself into enlightenment.. Which is quite silly in the end, since we are exactly that what we are looking for. :)

Take it easy!

Hello Iris,

I can relate to the feeling of anger and rage.
To me it would feel like I was being made to do something.  Like any repetative practise, grounding ... meditating.. eating healthy foods... exercising.
I found I'd start well and then feel angry and resentful that I was 'having to do this' - even though it was only me doing it.  And it was stuff that was good for me!

You have gone quick through this course, and now you have hit a lesson that you must linger at.
Might be a sign !!  ;)

Take it easy on yourself.  Grounding can be 'slow and gentle' as well as 'fast and powerful'.
Breath slowly ...  and thank yourself for the anger.  And just let it be there.
You are doing well... though it may feel uncomfortable

:)
Blessings

:Is this how the --- in your family deal with commitment?

***not that I´m aware of.

:Are you overworking yourself? Are you getting enough sleep, exercise, proper nutrition, fun?

*** I try to take care of those. Yes I have a good nutrition and kind of enough sleep.

:I also do lots of surrendering/letting go and asking Goddess for specific help.

*** yes, I am asking for help a lot.
Well- not so much time for fun right now...., but here and there yes.

:Have you seen your chiropractor lately? Gotten a massage recently?

*** I am doing some Cantienica exercises which takes care of the muskels in the body working properly together, and also exercises the deep muskulature. You feel realy light, vertical and verry good afterwards.

....for all your answers. I am really gratefull to get so much help and support, also to have the input of so many points of view.

I took your advices seriously and put the main focus on the exam, so sorry if I did not answer some of your comments in detail.

It seems that in the mean time my body adjusted to the grounding exercise, I am much more stable now. I really enjoy the allmost fearless state that ist gives me.

It feels a bit like this exercise was a important part of the puzzle, that I missed until now.

The grounding exercise is such a great tool, thanks a lot for that Mystress!

Vyana and Jürgen: thanks for the *ladyjulia*link. I didn´t try it yet, but I will.

Lovely. In the end, you simply persisted and the issues resolved themselves, with additional insights.

I did not respond- there was nothing to fix... but in the students and grad students responses there is great beauty! Thank you, everyone~ !
