So tired of this..

Today I discovered another big pimple or boil on my right side, above the hip area where I got a bunch last fall.. Also got a bunch of skin eruptions in my right armpit..  I am gonna call the doc tomorrow and see if they can take a blood sample or something to see if I have an infection.

So tired of this! I've surrendered everything I can find related to it, but still it just keeps coming. No insights or surrender or going into the body seems to help. It just keeps coming anyway.. Is it supposed to go on for months?  And why just the right side of my body?

Any genuine insights would be greatly appreciated.

  Hello, Gustaf:

I think seeing an MD is a good idea. When symptoms show up physically, you treat them physically. A lot of things can cause boils, everything from margarine to allergies to spider bites.

A boil *is* an infection, a bubble of pus and toxin working its way out. They heal cleaner if properly lanced and drained, disinfected.

I associate them with sluggish lymphatic drainage, the lymph nodes get clogged and have to spew through the skin. Gentle massage can stimulate it, and exercise. That Swedish thing of hot saunas, whacking yourself with branches then rolling in snow definitely detoxifies!
There are some liver tonics like drinking tea made from the first new dandelion leaves,  that some folks I know like to take in the spring.

lots of lymph nodes in those locations.

Good idea. Make an appointment and go see him.

What side do you usually sleep on? Body cleanses itself, during sleep, unless blood flow is reduced by pressure of weight. Lymph can't work without enough blood circulating.

Spiritually, boils represent anger, and the right side is the side of ego, and personal will. Symtom continue until you get the message!

Guess there are layers to your body wanting martial arts! Get your male aggressive energy expressed, and clear your lymph with exercise and sweating.

: Any genuine insights would be greatly appreciated.

That's what I get. Yours to decide if it is genuine.  Blessings!

I received your response just after setting up an MD appointment for next week. :) I have one question for you.. Somewhere on k-teacher you wrote about diet and were in disfavour of antibiotics. The reason I'm asking is because it's often used to treat infections.

Somewhere along my path, some sort of fear of MD's developed. Actually, all of it after K started happening. No doubt from all of those horror stories from people being misdiagnosed and put on heavy drugs or put in a mental hospital somewhere.

Like you said in your other post about MD's, I don't have to go with anything that goes against my own insights and intuition.  It doesn't have to be an either/or situation all the time. Could just as well keep typing so Goddess can eat it up! Here you go Goddess!

I actually had a sauna session yesterday, I'm starting with karate practice at home tonight, with lots of music! My body definitely needs it!

: lots of lymph nodes in those locations.

: What side do you usually sleep on? Body cleanses itself, during sleep, unless blood flow is reduced by pressure of weight. Lymph can't work without enough blood circulating.

Before going to sleep, I usually lay on my back. I spend some time with grounding myself, clearing some karma and maybe some meditation before falling asleep. It's a very nice way of falling asleep! It's pretty much eliminated any insomnia... After all, if I can't sleep, so what? Meditation gives rest too.. Then the tension of trying to sleep isn't there so sleep comes, anyway..

When I do decide to go to sleep, I often sleep on my belly, arms at sides.. I'm pondering if this is  karma of sorts.. I remember sucking on my thumb very late up in my years, like to the age of 9 or 10, and having to sleep on my belly with thumb in my mouth..  Man!  That memory was very well hidden until now!  I used to sleep on my right side a lot last year, but then I started getting some boils on my right hip, so I had to stop doing that.

Sleeping on my back seems to bring me into the most meditative sleep, so I have a feeling it would be the best position for me. It also leaves me open and vulnerable to the world, whereas sleeping on my belly "protects" me from it.

If you have any advice on sleeping positions, I'd love to hear it!   People tend to say so many different things about this about which side or position that's the right one!

:   Spiritually, boils represent anger, and the right side is the side of ego, and personal will. Symtom continue until you get the message!

Yeah, I found that out in the Louise Hay book. I have a lot of unexpressed anger, which you probably have already noticed.. An angry ego who tries to get/doesn't get what he wants?  The symptoms sure have led me to go more and more into surrender. In that, those boils may be an incredible gift. I yet to find the deepest root for it.

:   Guess there are layers to your body wanting martial arts! Get your male aggressive energy expressed, and clear your lymph with exercise and sweating.

Yes!  Maybe that has something to do with it too.  Sure, my body is limber and in a good condition from hatha yoga and walking, but I never get my blood pumping, or let myself sweat profusely. Like the eruptions in my right armpit.. so many sweatglands there.. Letting my blood pump and heart beat and get dirty and sweaty is probably not going to hurt! It wouldn't surprise me if part of the problem is so simple that I don't let myself sweat and exert myself..

As you know, I pretty much dropped all my spiritual practices so things could come back to me in a more natural, spontaneous way.. I think the body longs for some of those intense hatha yoga sessions, sun-salutes and stuff like that again. Not to push myself into enlightenment (That is a rather silly concept these days), but for the sake of the body!  Hatha yoga to stay flexible and fit, karate to sweat and express, and some detoxing to top that off.

: That's what I get. Yours to decide if it is genuine.  Blessings!

It definitely is!  I'm realizing that there's a whole world of people out there, a gift from Goddess. Including the MD's.. But I don't have to be a helpless victim patient or subscribe to their beliefs. But I can consult them.

In gratitude to the expression of Goddess which you are!

Gustaf

So I will do some follow up-posts on this thread.

I was supposed to go see the MD today.. Going to the trainstation, I found that the traingoing to be VERY late, with a bare minimum chance that it would go and take me there /just/ in time.  My gut reaction told me to just go back to work for today.  There I met my coworker who wouldn't normally come in today, and we came to some very cool conclusions about gamesound.

I called to cancel and set up a new doctors apt, and they told me they were just about to call me to tell me that the doctor was sick, and to set up another time for next week instead.

Very interesting syncronicity.. Something told me to not bother and take that train today.. So I guess I'm in for another week of detoxing and healing. Will see what Goddess comes up with for me.

If it is Lymph Nodes that are plugging up then find someone that does Touch for Health or something like that, that knows how to work on those Lymph nodes and get all that yucky stuff flowing again. I had it done, and had lots of plugged up Lymph nodes. It hurt like hell until he got them moving again.

: I received your response just after setting up an MD appointment for next week. :) I have one question for you.. Somewhere on k-teacher you wrote about diet and were in disfavour of antibiotics. The reason I'm asking is because it's often used to treat infections.

Antibiotics are overused, and the result we are seeing is infectious bacteria evolving antibiotic resistance. The super bugs that are showing up in hospitals.
The other thing about antibiotics is that they mess with your inner ecosystem. They kill off a lot of beneficial bacteria and promote yeast infections.
They can save your life, too.

I wouldn't take oral antibiotics without dire need, but I use polysporin (antibiotic ointment) on cuts and blisters. My first aid for boils is to lance them, drain the pus out of them. Rub a vaseline based antibiotic ointment into the hole, filling it if you can.  Cover with a light gauze so it can get air but stay moist, and the gauze holds the ointment in place so it doesn't rub off on your clothes. Check it every day, drain it if more pus forms but it probably won't. The redness and inflammation will often disappear within hours. You can probably skip the gauze by the second or third day, and will be mostly healed in a week... unless it is really big.
Disclaimer- this is my folk treatment, not a replacement for an MD's advice.

: Like you said in your other post about MD's, I don't have to go with anything that goes against my own insights and intuition.  It doesn't have to be an either/or situation all the time. Could just as well keep typing so Goddess can eat it up! Here you go Goddess!

Yes. I used to get bladder infections quite often, as a child and in my 20's. The doc would give me antibiotics which would clear up the bladder infection, but give me a yeast infection. Then I learned from a woman friend, that a bladder infection can be cured or prevented by drinking a lot of cranberry juice. These days I am told that is what the docs now prescribe, instead of antibiotics.
MDs are good for diagnosis, but sometimes I will seek a different treatment than they prescribe.

: Before going to sleep, I usually lay on my back. I spend some time with grounding myself, clearing some karma and maybe some meditation before falling asleep. It's a very nice way of falling asleep!

Yes! I let the day run through my head, surrendering everything. Sometimes I focus on something I want insights about, so I will have answers when I wake.

: If you have any advice on sleeping positions, I'd love to hear it!   People tend to say so many different things about this about which side or position that's the right one!

Sleeping on your belly leaves your head cranked around sideways. Tough to really relax, like that. I'd probably wake with a headache and a stiff neck, and be headed for the chiropractor.

I like to start off flat on my back, so my spine and body can fully relax in a straight flat position, sometimes feeling my body cease to fight gravity is so blissful! Sometimes I'll sit up, then lay down again vertebra by vertebra, straightening and lengthening the body. That way when my body lets go of tension, the body will adjust itself straight.

I sleep on my side a lot too, either side, but usually with the upper side elbow and knee drawn up to support the weight and keep the spine straight.  Kundalini likes a straight spine, and it is active when I sleep.

: Yeah, I found that out in the Louise Hay book. I have a lot of unexpressed anger, which you probably have already noticed..

Nope. You keep saying so, but to me you seem like a pretty peaceful person. I passed on the spiritual symbolism, but really I think the cause is more physical. You are detoxing some old stuff out. You need to sweat and get more exercise. A lymphatic drainage massage would be good too, but take care in selecting a practitioner. A bad one can do damage.
I got a few lymphatic massages from a Dr. of TCM in Victoria. For a few days afterwards, my sweat smelled like chinese food grease.

I started doing a night sweat cleanse a few months ago, using a low voltage electric mattress warmer turned up like a sauna. The stuff that came out of me, yikes! I recall going to change the sheets and noticing the whole area where my body lies was stained an ugly brown that went right through to the bed warmer. That phase passed and now there is less stain but the stink! I changed my sheets today, and I think I have never smelt them bad like that before. My sweat normally smells like sandalwood and old roses with a touch of citrus.
Usually I change the sheets because the man's side of the bed needs it! Not lately. The night sweat detox is definitely working.

:An angry ego who tries to get/doesn't get what he wants?  The symptoms sure have led me to go more and more into surrender. In that, those boils may be an incredible gift. I yet to find the deepest root for it.

well, you are doing a lot of surrendering, and there is a physical detox that goes along with it.

I did an intense release with one of my slaves once, and right afterwards he stank like death! His skin exuded this greasy film that reeked of death and decay. I could not bear to touch him, the odour clung to my hands. I sent him off to take a hot shower right away. He felt the shower on the back of his neck for the first time, and afterwards we discovered he had grown five inches. His spine had straightened out.

: Yes!

Yeah, pretty much. It's physical. You need to sweat.
I did some foolish things, as a 12 year old self hypnotist. All the shampoo, deodorant and oily skin care ads on TV inspired me to program my body not to get sweaty, smelly or oily. Then a few decades of dry skin and exzema before I made the connection and gave my body permission to sweat again. Lymph detoxes more than urine... sweat and urine are chemically similar but do different jobs.

: As you know, I pretty much dropped all my spiritual practices so things could come back to me in a more natural, spontaneous way.. I think the body longs for some of those intense hatha yoga sessions, sun-salutes and stuff like that again. Yeah. Part of the deal of K is to listen to the body, learn to care for it and have a long healthy and happy life. Give the body what it wants, and a lot of subtle and loud chronic stress disappears.
Listen to the folk wisdom of your geography and culture. In cold countries, it is not safe to work up a sweat out doors in winter, your clothes can freeze when you stop moving and your immune system will be weakened by hypothermia.
Most cold countries have some tradition of winter sauna or sweatlodge cleansing. It's healthy to sweat.  Blessings.

My heartvoice totally resonates with that!  Both about the overuse of antibiotics and their definite value when they are really needed.

I've been lancing, draining and also treating them with antiseptic to clear the infection in them. The swelling and discomfort has mostly settled down within a day. Though I keep getting dark spots of skin remaining, I'm wondering if those are scars or something that just needs a bit longer time to fully heal, just like a cut or something else does. Maybe the doc I am seeing on thursday has something to teach me about that. :)
The first one I had last fall was rather big, like the size of an egg almost. It was highly uncomfortable. All thats left of that now though is a fingernail sized purple patch of skin. The area of darker skin around the center of them seems to diminish, even though it appears to be a rather slow process. Ever since the first one I had they have generally been smaller and smaller, even those during the second outbreak I had in february (after the shadow lesson)

Funny that you are talking about that!  I used to get ear infections very often as a kid, all the way up to when I was 20, and in the army.. I got an earinfection during a field excercise and was sent to the doc. He was the first one to explain to me why I had the tendency to get these infections. My ear openings/tunnels are more narrow than in the average person so they tend to get clogged up and infected more easily, especially during colds. He showed me how to depressurize them and a few other things. He gave me antibiotics for the infection I had, but it hasn't recurred ever since. Very good doc!

I've spent more time sleeping on my back since the last pose, and it makes a big difference.  I don't tend to wake up as much during the night any more, and I haven't had as much of a tendency to have to pee during the night either, probably because laying on my stomach put unecessary pressure on my bladder. LOL, an issue I've had since childhood.. Taken care of by sleeping in a different position. Quite exceptional!  I've slept some on the side, just like you describe, aka "reclining buddha", and it's a nice position to move into when I don't feel like sleeping on my back.

: Nope. You keep saying so, but to me you seem like a pretty peaceful person. I passed on the spiritual symbolism, but really I think the cause is more physical.

Since the shadow lesson and on, my tendencies for angry outbursts and fits have almost ceased. Just ask Kimberly. :)  Of course I can still get angry, but its definitely different. It used to be a big problem with me, so I might have been hanging on to the residue of it, since it was with me for so long.

I'm right now in the middle of writing the pre-grad essay. Writing this post seems to be part of that process, clearing and clarifying a whole bunch of things.

Not sure where I can find that kind of massages around here. Haven't even been able to locate a naturopath yet. But it may be worth taking a close look at! Me and Kimberly have gotten a tantric massage DVD that has some very lovely massage practices! And it's also helping us connect.

The neighburhood has a sauna that I can sign up to use. I've already done it twice since the last mail, and plan to do it more. It's absolutely wonderful. :)  I'm calling the karate club tonight, and have started to do increasing amounts of sunsalutes in the morning that gives me a good pump and sweat.

: well, you are doing a lot of surrendering, and there is a physical detox that goes along with it.

Despite all the stuff I've gone through it is still sometimes hard to realize that it's often a detox process... Because it can feel so much like a sickness at times.

Yeah, wife had me start using deodorant because I stank so much. Getting a chance to sweat at appropriate times probably helps a lot with that too! And now that spring and summer is coming.. Ah, sunlight finally!

Yeah, caucasians have a lot of ketones in the skin, makes us more prone to scarring. Everyone in my family who has had surgery has a big purple or red zipper as a souvenier. The purple is the first stage of a scar, eventually fading to red, pink, then white.

Antiseptic cleans the surface, but antibiotic ointment is better for preventing scars. The redness passes more quickly and sometimes the purple doesn't happen at all.
A little bit of the antibiotic ointment is absorbed by the skin and kills the infectious bacteria in the surrounding cells, but does not seem to pass into the blood as much as other forms. I've gotten a yeast infection from antibiotic eye drops.

Yup, detox often does, especially at the beginning when all the junk is shaking loose and entering the bloodstream.

 Blessings!
