ANIMALIA
fever dreams

i want to get lost
in an afternoon of music with u
to eat the strange desserts

a full moon is feverish
and i am dreaming of your
breasts

i gave up trying to marry a man
so i married the Moon

f r u i t s.
i want to go sing
lost songs with you
into the lion’s soft mouth
pluck leaves from a bush
burning
laugh into a sun,
toiling

while we
make up worlds

i want honey and rain
i want body, the wisdom
i want the force of flesh
i want freedom and song

i want my feathered heart
and bleating tongue

i want the dancing
gait of god,
undone
