Doubts regarding grounding

Hello!
I have the following doubts regarding Mystress' grounding meditation.

1) I live in the top floor apartment. So I was wondering if my feet needs to be touching the ground (as in earth and not the floor of my apartment) while doing the grounding meditation. There is someone who lives directly below my apartment.

2) I try to do grounding with bare feet as much as possible. Wanted to check if it was ok to do grounding exercise with shoe/socks on?

3) For some reason, the video files don't work on my laptop. I am accessing the site from my Mac (10.6. through Firefox (24.0). I have Real Player (Version 12.0.1 (1750)) installed. I don't mind just reading the video transcripts for the lessons. But I would love to have the video for the grounding exercise, if possible.

Can someone please help me with these?

Ill give my thoughts:

It doesn't matter if people are below or above you or if your feet are touching the actual earth. Your intention of what you are doing when grounding will guide the energy around whatever is in the way. Likewise with socks and touching the actual earth - apparently you can be in a airplane and still powerfully feel the earths energy and interact with it. While I am sure there is a certain quality to being barefoot with the actual earth, from what I have gathered from teachers/masters what is most important is your intention and quality of attention when doing the practice.

Regarding the Videos - in my opinion its really important to watch the videos! There is a lot of energy/shakti/encoding in those videos, and for me the videos have been very powerful and different to just reading the text/transcript (I couldn't get the videos to work for a long time and felt the difference in the lessons when I did).

I couldn't get the proper versions of Realplayer to play the videos on my mac so I ended up using a cheap Windows laptop to do it. If anyone has gotten it to work on the Mac, could you post your exact steps because I originally tried everything.

For the mac issue. You can try to install and run windows emulation and inside it install a realplayer version 8 or G2.

Thank you Fj, your insights are very good. To me grounding is mostly about the feeling of groudness - finding it and nurturing it. In the beginning it is really good to do it with the video or line by line from the page. That really ads a special aid and that is usefull if in need also later in the course.

A nice special treat is when Mystress is grounding people in the start of sl chats. I consider myself reasonably grounded but I soon discover that compared to what could be, there is a way to go. And that is quite inspiring.

I have spent hours trying to figure out the Real Player issue but couldn't resolve it. I even tried switching browsers. At this point, I think I am not supposed to view the videos. Which makes me feel sad. Esp. since everyone keeps talking about how the videos are better. I couldn't even get the audio to work. I have no idea why. I am just going to put out a request to Goddess and keep reading the lessons.

I thought I will order the FST CD but then found out that it has been discontinued.
At the very least, I would have really liked to get a copy of the grounding video or even audio. I understand that there is a gif animation. But for some reason, I long to hear Mystress' voice. I guess it will happen when it has to happen.

I was searching the web and came across this video. Can someone confirm if this voice is from Mystress? If yes, then I can use it for practice.

Gopi, I have a Mac and I am using VMware Fusion to run a copy of Windows in my Mac and then I use Realplayer G2 etc that I got from oldversions.com. That may sound a bit complicated but its actually really easy but you may need someone to help you to set it up. I personally couldn't get the Mac versions of Real player to work at all and gave up. I don't think many people have had success with that.

A few options:

You can either buy VMWare fusion or another one called Parallels (its about $60) and use a cracked copy of Windows (so you don't have to pay for new copy) or pay for a new copy of Windows (I would try to find a new sealed copy of Windows 7, Vista or XP rather than the new Windows .

Alternatively, and cheaper if you can get a new or old version of Windows (cracked, new, something you have lying around) you can also use Mac's Bootcamp Assistant (you will find it in the Utilities folder thats within the Applications folder on your Mac).  That is free and means you can boot into Windows and run Windows from there. That saves you from spending money on VMware fusion etc. Its also very easy to set up. You will need about 10gbs or so free on your hard drive to do this.

What may be easier is if you can buy a really cheap Windows laptop, new or second hand, like $100 to $200 and watch the videos on there.

The videos are that important to me and its beautiful to see Mystress and hear her talk. My feeling is the videos are an important part of the course.

Thank you fewtureJ for the suggestions and for confirming that the YouTube video is Mystress' voice.
Today I logged in to the FST site from work. I use a desktop PC at work. I installed G2 and opened the FST site from work and everything worked fine. It was a treat to see Mystress talk.
Was sad that I couldn't do that and put out a request yesterday night.
And today... here I am grinning.

  You got good responses, its nice the students support each other.

  Yes that youtube video is of the audio of the version of the grounding that was on k teacher. At first I was kind of upset that somebody did that, but the woman is very nice and she attributed it accurately and promoted it all over the web.  She also did a version of herself reading the grounding and wow she makes me sound really good lol. She has one reading witness state page from K teacher too which was misattributed but she corrected it. 

  Bit disconcerting that other people are putting my stuff on youtube before I do. Obviously I could read my own writing better... duu and I have been discussing making some q&a podcasts.

  The CD would be no help to you, its the same antique realplayer vids.  I think your difficulties accessing relates to your overload issues, you don't need to be getting zapped that hard, just now.

  Updating the videos has been in process since 2006. At this point 2/3 of them have been located on the 8 x 1.5 hours of extremely highly charged raw footage, and edited, many are even uploaded to the vimeo account but I have been waiting to get the last few before installing them all, the grounding is still to be located.  The way the website is constructed it is easier and more foolproof (me being the fool) to update all the lessons at once rather than have two systems. I am thinking it is past time for me to abandon that plan, get the new vids online and plug the remaining holes with format conversions from the old rp. 

   I never liked realplayer, it was the choice of the business partner who instigated the course being created because at the time it was the only secure format and his business was making online courses. He converted the raw to rp format then edited. Fortunately he gave me the original DV tapes when his business folded. There have been a few years in the interim where there was no way to secure the videos from being copied off the website and distributed.
