many people having trouble with 2nd Life Login and fix

across the web, lotsa folks are getting stuck with the message :
initializing vfs

and then it just sticks and doesn't load.

Here's the fix I found online:

First you need to enable viewing of hidden folders:
NOTE: You may need to go to Windows Tools > Folder Options > View & enable Show Hidden Files/Folders, in order to see AppData folder.

Then:
Move the folder C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife to your desktop, Restart your PC and try loading SL again

The reason I sugest move and not delete is so you have a copy of any logs if you like to keep them , the folder will recreate itself when you start your viewer up again




The above worked for me and I didn't loose any of my 2nd Life data- like friends, favorites, home location etc.
