Pain in spine

Yesterday morning I woke up with a pain in my upper back that I thought was my spine.  I did some hanging to stretch it out and some other stretching exercises.  Later in the evening it got worse so I got my wife to kneed it, walk on my back and stab the shit out of it with the back end of a knife.  Well this morning it was hurting but not as bad.

I went to a physio in town after work today and the lady had a look.  She say she found a couple of vertebrae the were not rotating and she did some manipulation.  I did not really feel it had any effect but I followed her advice, came home and decided to skip training today.  Anyway..... I lay down just before dinner and ended up falling asleep for an hour or two.  When I woke up, everything (right now) is worse then it ever was.

Apart from more pain, I feel sensitive all over and not too great.  I think I will go to the doc tomorrow.  Well my reason for posting is I wonder if there is any blockage there...... on my back it is at the same level as my heart Chakra.  Interestingly, when I practice Qi Gong or Nei Gong shortly after the `electricity` fills my arms legs etc... I begin to feel it welling in my heart Chakra (a nice feeling).  I have never supposed that to signify a block and to be honest I have not been doing my Qi Gong recently.

Perhaps it is just a physical thing and nothing energy based at all (with respect to blockage).  But I still give it to Goddess and say please take this pain away!

I anyone has suffered similar I would be interested to know about it.  I did not do anything before that could attribute to the cause... I actually have a very flexible spine and very strong back...... I hate being injured!

Hi Jeremy,

I have had a similar experience.  When the upward blast of K is in full effect it really pushes on the areas of resistance and patterns of karma in the body.  For me pain usually signifies that I am not effectively surrendering the pattern that has been brought into awareness.  What has really helped me out is meditation.  To sit with awareness of the pain usually cause it to unravel.  Sometimes memories come up, visual images, releases of emotion, audible noises, or the pain spreads along specific meridian lines.  Sometimes surrendering works, but often times there is a lesson to be learned and I really have to bring the issues into awareness before they go.  At the beginning of the year, things really began to take off inside me.  There was a lot of pain along the spine, especially in the heart region.  Traditional Hindu thinking says that there are three major knots along the spine and many others throughout the body, Brahma (base of spine), Vishnu (heart/solar plexus/ throat area), and Shiva (third eye) granthis.  The opening of the heart and solar plexus has been painful for me.  There is a lot of bliss at points, but towards the back of the heart chakra is a lot of stuff that I've held onto for years.  Daily meditation has been the only thing that has worked to begin to clear it up.  The other thing that has been helping me has been to ask, "Who is feeling this pain?,"  "Who is thinking this thought?," "Who is meditating?," etc.  When the pain arises, this kind of questioning that Ramana Maharshi, Sri Nisargadatta, and Tibetan Mahamudra practices teach seem to bring a rapid end to an ego trip.  It puts me out of the way enough to expose the pure awareness that is everything.  Strangely enough, the pain generally goes away along with a little piece of ego.

Another thing that I've found, is that qi-gong or Nei-gong, mantras, breathing exercises, kriyas, yoga, certain martial forms, any number of things can serve to really fire k up.  If there is anything in the way that I do not want to let go of (karmic patterns), it comes into awareness rather poignantly...i.e. pain, racing heart, etc.  Sometimes, it's much easier for me to lay off of the other techniques and deal with things on a much less rapid pace.  This means that the sensations of energy being blocked up...manifest as less trying sensations...not intense pain...but maybe just a localized buzzing or something.  Not trying to force myself to grow, but letting things come up naturally seems much more conducive to functioning in society.  After laying off of these things for 4 months, things began to settle down.  I was able to pick them up individually and work with them to see exactly what effects they have on the body...they all have a lot more power behind them than they did before because of k (it seems to supercharge them).  Sometimes certain exercises are not appropriate, and sometimes they can help open me up more to a more spacious awareness...it depends on the moment.  Awareness and patience really help to fit things together in a way that is much more harmonious and the body is always ready to tell me what to do.

I hope this is of benefit to you.  This is kind of rambly and may or may not apply.  The very first thing that I did was to go to the emergency room for the pain and symptoms that I was experiencing.  They gave me a powerful anti-biotic, a pain medication, and told me that they didn't know what was wrong.  As you can imagine, these didn't do much either.  I also tried various different alternative healing modalities and found that these can actually make things worse...they don't seem to deal with the underlying issues causing the pain and other symptoms.

For me, finding ways to bring the issues into awareness and surrender them...to relax into awareness... has been the best course of action.  Goddess is pure awareness and unconditional love.   8)

Hi Jeremy,

I do a set of Nei Gong exercises along with my other stuff everynight, recently I too have been having pain in my spine around the power/heart chakra area. It has been very acute after the session, and like Pete says meditation seems to do the trick...

What I adopt is the advice for straightening the spine the mystress teaches. Image a balloon is on the top of the head and it is making you weightless...this really stretches the spine...causes loads of pain but this soon goes with the help of surrender.

Sometimes I get the instruction from my inner light to stand up and surrender... so I do, I start to vibrate and shake at the very high intensity...starting from my root chakra I then get a rush of energy  stopping at the power/heart chakra then I seem to go into a spasm of shaking and it burst through into my head and the tornado starts, my head feels like it going to spin off and then a rush follows out of my crown chakra ... leaving my feeling incredibly calm and still. My lips, arms, hands are left feeling a little numb...heat then follows and they seem to be healed.

My pain is associated with karma blockages, so the Nei Gong exercises, for me, are helping to bring stuff up.

Just like to add some other insights:

I've played around with this pain...first I ask my inner light (heart voice) to locate the blockage, then follows a vice like grip on it, I surrender it all to Goddess In top down fashion from point of origin...usually the shaking stuff happens as I have already described.  On occasions though, I am suddenly put into extreme yoga positions by a overwhelming might...power chakra is pushed back as though something is being pulled out my body with great force, then I am suddenly expanding my chest, again as though something is being pulled out, this carries on a similar vain on all the rest of the chakra's until it out my crown. Then the shaking stuff happens and it all over...the pain has vanished and I am left feeling extremely calm.

The pain returns again the following night after the next set of Nei Gong exercises... I just see it as a good way of locating the crap that I needs to give up.

So my advice would be to meditate, really connect to the raw quality of the pain and space it out by just sitting with it a while and then ask Goddess to get a hold of it and surrender the whole thing.

All the best...

Hey thanks for the replies! this turned out to be pretty weird indeed! I did notice some issues coming up, specifically a couple of days ago when I decided to go in to get checked.  Lots of anger issues, I nearly lost it with a couple of people.  Doctors where I live are so freaking rude.  Then I called the physio place I went to and they were also rude and defensive.

Anyway, the following day after my initial post I was in agony, my back was hurting, I was getting hot and cold, my whole body was sensitive as though I had flu and I felt nauseous because of the constant back pain.  It is still there just not as much.  Right now its just a tingling.  So, the weird part is the other night my wife says she feels dizzy.  Next day I go to work and she calls to say not only that she has all the same symptoms that I did but also a pain in the back too!! in the exact same spot!!! in fact she still has it bad like I did right now.  How weird is that!

On a funny note.. I like to give my wife backrubs.  Sometimes she asks me to scratch somewhere where it itches. Often I'm in an empathy mode to connect with her, and I start itching in the exact same places. Itch-fest lol!

On a more sober note..

I can relate in various ways, if not the exact kind of experience. It seems that body/mind work systems like chigong and yoga will eventually bring out physical imbalances that need to be corrected, if you practice it sincerely.

For example, when I started practicing yoga 7-8 years ago, everything went fine until I practiced the locust pose (simplified description: lay on stomach, use arms as leverage to lift legs)  I got an intense back pain and every muscle was seized up completely.  I went to a back specialist who discovered that my spine was slightly bent towards one side, which led to the pain and stiffness, since I was going into a deep position. He corrected it for me, and practice went perfectly smooth after that.

During my awakening I've had various other physical imbalances manifesting. Even though we tend to look for the source of things in this work, sometimes the only thing that really matters is to re-balance in the way that Goddess asks, through the body-mind, and not necessarily know every little detail of it.   For example, I had severe stiffness and aching in my left foot and neck (which intensified when I meditated, regardless of posture)  It went away after I started to learn how to clear karma (which was slightly before I came in contact with Mystress)  It also lead to a throat chakra opening.

More recently, the past few months I had some stiffness and pain in the left side of my body, particularily neck and left side. Excercise aggravated it, and I thought yoga stretches would, too. But amazingly enough, what was asked for was a new way of approaching the stretches, with more focus, more communication with the body mind, and I found I could go from pain/stiff to relaxed and soft again within 15-20 minutes in the morning.  The bodymind also asked me to change my sleeping postures.

So... Three examples, and all of them had a different cause and different solution, some physical some not.

Kundalini can also put the nervous system into overdrive, and the solutions vary it seems.  Maybe supplements and diet adjustments, or the right physical activity to work out physical and energetic stagnation, or some work on the etheric to remove blockages, or some combination.  The pleasant feelings may not have anything to do with a blockage, but due to an increase increase of energy (which pushes at the blockages at the same time)  This has happened for me several times.

Namaste!

Hi Jeremy!

All of the above replies have some excellent suggestions. I really only have one extra thing you can, if you wish. When I have pain in a particular area, I like to take a deep breathe in, focusing on the pain, visualizing breathing air INTO the pain. I hold the breath for a second or so, and allow myself to feel the pain fully. Then I exhale, focusing on releasing the pain, and allowing myself to relax. I do find that doing this helps me sometimes. Often I find that my body will do a kriya in that area, or elsewhere in my body. Kriyas often help me release pain and pent-up tension, and thereby releases karma in physical form! It works well for me, maybe it will help you too. It's a trick I learned from a chiropractor/spiritual healer. Good luck.

Whenever something is attacking me or seems so, i'm trying to be a good chief: 1st, no panic!
When the chief panics what shall the crew think? The attacker becomes the new chief, obviously.
So i'm trying to avoid that false emotional attention with its consecutive power shift; do nothing which can make the enemy grow, to supernatural dimensions.
Panic has its origin in notorious negative suggestions, i'm more and more aware of.
Another keyword for the same thing is puritanism: the("good") intention to eradicate anything threatening, 'root and branch' style. Because this is just what leads to panic and builds up the slightest inconvenience to an unvincible enemy. Knowing my culture, can be of great advantage here, especially in an insanely puritanistic one: sheds some light on my character and gives hints for surrender.

The 'enemy' is not just an enemy, but like anything else an expression of Goddess Herself, and for its inimical manifestation, the decision is just mine. Haha, and trying to eradicate Goddess must of course be doomed to fail, with more or less drastic consequences...

Even palliative practices(Yoga, drugs, massages, tai chi, medicines, jogging, otherwise stark harmful and leading to dependancy,  seem to be of great potential use, in combination with responsibility(good chief, relaxedness, acceptance(of love and oneness), faith, submission(to what is) ). I'm reserved though, as long as it feels for me personally, manipulative.

In the spirit of responsibility, even mundane science may provide some good hints: after all, modern science was founded by some open-minded Alchemist guys and no one needs to buy the distortions which have also found entrance into bookszs-wisdom.

For the spinal pains, i have recently built a new high-desk, so i have comp-keybords, screens and my "book of shadows", etc. at 125 cm(whatever this may be in foot and inch), ok i looked it up: 49.2 in, period ;D
No chair in the way, and a feeling sorts of like walking and working in the clouds...

Mystress

  Hello Jeremy:

Anyway, the following day after my initial post I was in agony, my back was hurting, I was getting hot and cold, my whole body was sensitive as though I had flu and I felt nauseous because of the constant back pain.

The hot and cold thing is a classic karma release symtom with Kundalini. I used to get it switching over fast, a few times per minute with ice-lightning electric in my leg bones. A warm waterbed or a hot bath would calm it down. Epsom salts can help too.

Quite common when there is an empathic link between couples. :) Get her to surrender it and it will lift from you too! :)
   Blessings...
