Muscle tension in shoulders

All my adult life, I have had a problem with muscle tension and sometimes ace in my shoulders, my back and around my pelvis.

The main reason might be an accident I had when I was a very young child. I then broke my leg. I think it was the right one. Today I am seeing a naprapath who says my right leg is significantly shorter than my left leg and a chiropractor who says it%rsquos not. (Both are firmly convinced and also very convincing.) I have also been told that carrying a lot of heavy books, mostly in my right hand or on my right shoulder, for many years might be the explanation. And I also suspect that I might have added to the problem myself by being tense in difficult situations.

Since I was 13 years old I have had a problem with heart burn, manifesting in symptoms similar to a heart attack. In the summer of 1997 those problems got more severe and I had several incidents with severe cramps in my chest and stomach, heart arrhythmias, shakes in my whole body and so on. The doctors suspected a heart disease and I had to visit the hospital at every incident. At one occasion I was misdiagnosed with panic attacks and was prescribed PTSD. As I was ill enough to try anything, I tried it. It did not help, but instead initially gave me several severe attacks with a lot of energy rushing to a point at my chest (very close to my upper chest chakra). I took it in a rather high dose for about one year (just to be sure), then slowly lowered the dose and got rid of it over another year.

During the period when I was lowering the dose and for a year or so afterwards, I now and then had a different type of attack. It most often happened when I was about to fall asleep in the night or even when I was asleep. I got a very unpleasant feeling in my chest which frightened me and made me wake up very sudden and with a chock. Soon afterwards I started to shake in my whole body and especially my shoulders. It felt as if my arms were loose. I also became very weak and had problems coordinating my movements. The main reason for these attacks was most likely the heart burn (stomach acid coming up when I lay down and relaxed).

In the summer of 2002 I got much worse in my stomach. It started to kind of suddenly blow up like a balloon. This was extremely painful. I treated my stomach with a diet and it slowly got somewhat better.

In the summer of 2003 my kundalini energy was forcefully activated at an intense tantra yoga course. I got muscle ace and cramps in all parts of my body from the physical exercises. I also noticed that when I practiced the nadi shodana (alternate nostrile breathing with breath retention 1:4:2) I got strong and even somewhat painful tinglings, like needles, in my arms. After the course I had a few weeks of euphoria and then started to feel bad. Then I had an extremely high activity of energy running round and round in my body during the autumn, resulting in a kind of major muscle coordination break down. I did physical yoga exercises and the muscular tensions past away, but soon they where back and doubled. Somewhere during this process I arrived at the understanding that my stomach had somehow been connected to the muscles of my torso. When the stomach blew up like a balloon, it created a pressure at the muscles of my chest and stomach and almost gave me cramps. This connection was broken. At the end of November I had a major stress break down, from which I recovered surprisingly fast.

During my recovery I saw a psychotherapist who advised me to do some stretching exercises which mostly involved my shoulders.

Since Mystress teached me to take in energy through my upper chest chakra in January I have noticed that the energy is activating my shoulders and arm, which are tingling, very much. Therefore I often breath the energy into my arms.

A few weeks ago, when I was abroad, I had some bad food which turned my stomach (which has been rather good since autumn 2003) upside down. One afternoon, when I had a nap at my hotel room, I woke up with a chock from that extremely bad feeling in my chest that I remembered from some years ago. Soon I started to shake forcefully in my whole body and especially my shoulders. I once again felt as if my arms were loose. I also became very weak and had problems coordinating my movements. This lasted for about one hour, which was more than usual before, I think.

About a week ago I asked my heart voice what to do to get rid of my stomach problems (my stomach is still kind of expanding now and then, although it%rsquos not painful anymore, and I have a tendency to get to much stomach acid). The answer (which is always a body sensation or emotion of some kind, but never a voice) was relaxation of the body and, as I understood the message, especially the sides of it, between my shoulders and pelvis. So I have taken up transcendental meditation twice a day (which is the most relaxing technique I know) and before that I do a lot of small yoga exercises to release muscular tensions in my legs, shoulders, arms and neck (head movements and so on). I also practice nadi shodana, but I am very careful with that.

This week, I have noticed that, especially when I do a lot of grounding and get charged with a lot of energy, I feel as is energy is working and muscles kind of getting awake in my shoulders and arm.
