Title: Chat schedule?
Post by: Mystress on Aug 07, 2008, 12:03:19 AM

I am looking at setting up a chat party schedule for fall and winter. Every few weeks, something like that.  Being in PST/PDT time zone, -on the western edge of the world so to speak - makes it tricky for me to guess what would be a good time and day for everyone east of me.
Please respond with suggestions that work for you, in Pacific time which is also sl time :)
Which brings my next question: Do you prefer the chats be held in Secondlife, in this tea rooms chat, or at my violet fire-serpent.org php chat? Let me know! Thanks...

Sounds really nice  :) For me 11 am would be good. Couple of times I have had to go to sleep before Karma vampire parties have even started  :-\ But noon is also okay. I just have to manage then.
SL is beautiful, but it would be nice to have chat here also sometimes. My own computer don't run SL. But if chats are between friday-sunday, it's easier to sneak into my friends computer...

Hi,

Noon at your Canadian time fits well.

SL is nice, but I find it easier to not loose attention and focus on traditional chat.

Edward :)

Yay!more chats.  11 or noon is good for me too.  I do much prefer the sl chats, but also want everyone to be able to be there, that seems more important.
thank you
Jen

Yeah, 11.am or noon for me too,  S.L. time. That would make it 7.00/8.00pm (Greenwich Mean Time)...perfect.

S.L. chats are cool... but I have no experience of any other...open to anywhere; which ever suits the majority.

Thank you

Dave

Anytime on weekends usually works for me.

I prefer php chats for several reasons.  a) Php may be more inclusive for those w/o the ability to access SL for whatever reason.  SL is a great tool, but the awareness of the group has always been stronger and more focused in the php chat room for me.  b) I've been noticing that the spaces I'm in seem to have a definite effect on the mental state.  There really does seem to be a lot of 'noise' in SL...in the form of the mental and emotional impressions left behind by the volume of people passing through these spaces.  Time and grounding has made it easier to maintain a state of surrender while letting the impressions pass through, but I still find it more difficult to be discerning and sensitive when there are several 1000 things to sort vs. the energy of a dedicated virgin space that is specifically created for the chat and dissolved afterwards.  c)  Sometimes I find that watching what someone else's avi is doing or being otherwise entranced by the beautiful scenery of SL can be distracting from what is really going on in the chat.  d) And as we know, SL is anything but private.

:) Anyway, thank you for doing the chats, Mystress.  They have been very helpful to break through some things at times.

regards,
Pete

I'm adoring the excerpts of Mystress's sl-creations She has posted here and digest them with the mindset of "bebbie eat that chicken slow", Ya see: sl-ow containing sl  ;D

What Pete says is very appealling, maybe sl is more advanced -- and for making just that experience. I'm just content Mystress having a creative outlet there, Her enthusiasm feels so incentive, keeping me smiling and smiling.
Finally it's She Herself giving us the php-chat opportunity.
As to the time i'll be glad to follow those with tighter time schedules.

Juergen

Noon..pst works good for me too.  Enjoyed the one I went to in SL...although  grounding was a challenge . I haven't been to any other chats so really have nothing to compare it to. Thank you for providing these...Tammy

Around noon or afternoons would be great. Friday to Sunday easiest to get time to calm down and enjoy the chat...
