Intro
--------------------
.*.This file is intended to help you print a booklet(double side) from the enclosed 2 pdf's
MAS_kundalini_primer.pdf
MAS_kundalini_primer2.pdf,
in 2 steps on a one side(ordinary) printer. Of course a professional double side printer can also be "abused" for it.
.*.Load the pdf's with Adobe Acrobat Reader, or another program that you know will do the task.
.*.When I speak of pages here, the pages of the pdf's, as referred to in the printer dialog box are meant, not the pages of the Kundalini primer(which appear usually 2 on one side). Here page equals to 'side of a sheet'.
----------------------------------------
4 possible printer types
--------------------
A) prints regularly from the end to the beginning of a document and the printed side shows face up in the out tray
.*.Variant 1 has the printable side face up in the in tray(=paper support).-->(A1)
.*.Variant 2 has the printable side face down in the in tray.-->(A2)
B) prints regularly from the beginning to the end of a document and the printed side shows face down in the out tray.
.*.Variant 1 has the printable side face down in the in tray.-->(B1)
.*.Variant 2 has the printable side face up in the in tray.-->(B2)
----------------------------------------
Your printer type
--------------------
Now that you have the complete set of printer types {A1,A2,B1,B2} you only need to determine your printer: you need to find out, which is the printable side in your paper support, face up or face down. To determine this variant, mark one sheet with a little point and print a test on the sheet, so you can see which is the printable side of your support sheets. How the print comes out in the out tray, up or down, is meanwhile quite obvious;
----------------------------------------
moving the batch to reinsert
--------------------
.*.maintain the long edges: left edge will be left, right edge will be right: like out tray like in tray!
.*.sometimes to flip over sometimes not(will be indicated)
----------------------------------------
preparing printing(Acrobat Reader)
--------------------
.*.In the 'print range'-panel, choose the 'All'-radiobutton; for 'subset', let 'All pages in range' unchanged; As for the checkmark box 'Reverse pages', it depends: can be needed to check, see for the special procedures below.
.*.In the 'page handling'-panel, under 'copies' choose maybe just "1", to start with; set 'page scaling' to 'none'; 'auto-rotate and center' is checked; 'choose paper source..' usually unchecked I guess.
.*.Paper size is A4, from the 'printer-panel' you can access your printer through the properties-button, where you can set the paper size, but A4 will be best.
----------------------------------------
procedure for A1(e.g. Epson Stylus CX7800)
--------------------
.*.Begin with MAS_kundalini_primer2.pdf in regular mode(no reverse,'Reverse pages' unchecked); turn the batch over by maintaining the long edges(flip over vertically), so that the blank sides show face up in the paper support.
.*.Continue with MAS_kundalini_primer.pdf also in regular mode, then tho logo will appear on top
----------------------------------------
procedure for A2(e.g. HP Officejet)
--------------------
.*.Begin with MAS_kundalini_primer.pdf in regular mode(no reverse,'Reverse pages' unchecked); reinsert the batch holding eye-contact with the logo, maintaining the long edges.
.*.Continue with MAS_kundalini_primer2.pdf, but this time in reverse mode, check 'Reverse pages'! The sheet with the logo goes to the bottom in the out tray, new print comes face up, logo face down, ready to fold.
----------------------------------------
procedure for B1(e.g. Kyocera FS 600)
--------------------
.*.Begin with MAS_kundalini_primer2.pdf in regular mode(no reverse,'Reverse pages' unchecked); flip vertically to get eye-contact with the print and reinsert while maintaining the long edges.
.*.Continue with MAS_kundalini_primer.pdf, again in regular mode, logo going to the bottom of the out tray flat on its nose, face down, right to fold.
----------------------------------------
procedure for B2(e.g.?)
--------------------
.*.Begin with MAS_kundalini_primer.pdf in regular mode(no reverse,'Reverse pages' unchecked); don't flip, but reinsert having eye-contact with the blank side of the pile, and don't forget to maintain the long edges.
.*.Continue with MAS_kundalini_primer2.pdf, but this time in reverse mode, check 'Reverse pages'! These printed sides will show down in the out tray, including the backside of the logo sheet on top of the pile, logo showing face up, ready to print, i.e. if such a printer exists, but why not :)
----------------------------------------
Book-binding
--------------------
If you fear no needle and have a tiny screwdriver, you can perforate three holes and draw a thread through them, or use a good stapler.
----------------------------------------
Precautions:
--------------------
.*.If printer is "jammy", you can manually print sheet by sheet, under the assumption that the 10 pages of each document belong together by identical numers; just start for both pdf's either from the beginning or from the end, simultaneously; maintaing long edges and knowing the printer type(printable side shows up or down in the in the paper support) is the same like in the case of printing All at once.
.*.1. Before re-insertion for the 2nd print-run remove all remaining paper from the paper support to avoid jam. Also, if you can foresee, that the amount of paper in the paper support won't be enough, don't intervene; let these sheets be printed, until your printer prompts for fresh paper, serve its will and continue printing.
.*.You need not check in the printer properties for landscape format.
.*.Flip over will always be vertically.

Good book making!
