Title: Question about Ego and surrender
Post by: Lexx on Mar 19, 2008, 06:36:41 PM
Today has been a rough day. I have broken up with my girlfriend.
I was at my window and a song made tears stream from my eyes. It was a feeling of surrender and at once i felt close to everything around me. Part of me resisted this, maybe my ego, it came from my lower chest as a tight feeling, roughly speaking. So my question is, is anything that resists surrender essentially 'wrong'? If anything challenges surrender is it showing itself up, as something to be surrendered aswell?

:)

Thanks.

Yes.  Release one thing, be shown the next layer, or where the hurt came from. Where the karma is stored.

Surrender everything, let Goddess sort it out. If it is right for you, She will give it back, new and improved.
Power chakra is control issues. People have free will, and sometimes that sort of sucks eh? (hugs) Not that we would really have it, any other way...

Yup, that's what happens with those control thoughts. Sounds like your discernment is speaking loud and clear, already.  ;) ;D

   Blessings!

First thing that happened to me when I started this course was that I broke up. In the end he wanted that. I'm now single mother and it's a good thing. Not good for me or to him to keep up something that wasn't really working. We have quite good relationship now, basically same than before break up. The break up was the same than our relationship,  quite calm, distant, easy...  I wish everything turns out in the best possible way for you  :)

Thanks for the responses.

The grounding meditation brings up many issues i think.

To let yourself go completely is beautifull and essential! But the resistance to it makes me want to cry. Its like we (i) decided at some point that i cant get what i want so ill settle for all the little pieces of second best. I havent parted ways with my woman friend yet, but were hitting reefs, and its mainly due to the karmic baggage i carry around.
Today i heard Bob Marley's 'Stir it up' which i LOVE! It made my heart move deep down in its core, and i felt pain too. I saw people who to me look unhappy, kind of poured into a mould that cant really fit true joy. And i felt that i dont want to be like that, i want true joy and love in my life, no matter what i do, if i dont have that its all for nothing.

I dont know if this is appropriate to just dump my feelings down like this, but thankyou for sharing yours too.

Yeah, it is. So long as you are not dumping on other members. ;)

This tea room is a temple of the Goddess, so dumping is also a form of surrender... emotional release.   Just let people know if you are only dumping and don't want a response... because sometimes people share, release  and move on, done with it but other members who read the spewing are still trying to offer them comfort, because they got tangled in the karmic stuff of it out of natural compassion.
