Title: Divine Beloved meditation
Post by: Gustaf on Sep 04, 2007, 12:07:45 PM
This meditation form has appeared spontaneously in a deep state. According to Mystress it is similar to an ancient meditation form.

I know many FST students have difficulties contacting their DB. This meditation will be excellent for this, and is also great for anyone who wants to deepen the connection. There's no limit to its depth. For practical and linguistical reasons, I will describe the DB with female words. If you are a female, just replace it with masculine terms while practicing. I recommend you progress to the Divine Beloved lesson in the course before starting, but if your heartvoice tells you to go ahead anyway, that's alright too.

A very important note!  If your Divine Beloved guides you into something that deviates from the suggested practice, let this happen. When your connection with the Beloved is spontaneous, the connection has deepened, and the guidelines are not needed. You can add, change or remove any stage in the meditation as you wish, to suit your heart's wishes.

Make sure you will be undisturbed for the full duration of this practice. I will describe it for a sitting pose, but it can also be performed standing. If you prefer that, adjust accordingly.

Make sure to adjust your posture so you can be comfortable, use some pillows if needed. Close your eyes and keep them closed throughout the practice.

-- The practice begins --

1. Get grounded by performing the grounding visualization. Give yourself enough time for this so you feel calm and centered. Once grounded, remain in this state for at least a few minutes, and be aware of the energy and space within you.

2. Now imagine your Divine Beloved sitting in front of you. If you have already encountered her, allow her to appear in the form that comes naturally for you. The form may not be clear at first, that's ok. Offer her your love, devotion and

gratitude. Say mentally or verbally "Thank you my Beloved" You can stay in this state for quite some time if you want and just look into your Beloved's eyes.

3. Scan your inner field for blockages, karma. First visualize your bubble being completely clear, then see where the energy is not flowing. When you see something, imagine taking it into your hands, holding it out to her. If you wish, you can do this physically with your hands. Offer whatever it is as as a most precious gift, try to not judge it. Keep doing this for as long as you wish. At one point, your Beloved may start to reach out herself and heal blockages on her own. Let her.

She may be very creative with it. It may be profound, and possibly even humorous. No matter what form, let it happen as it will. She may also start showing you things. Images, shapes, issues. If this happens, let her guide you through the process.

4. Leave clearing blockages for a moment, and look at the Beloved with intense devotion. Study every feature, every detail and quality. The features may change and warp. Let them! Look into her eyes, and then allow yourself to see yourself from her perspective. Put yourself inside her form and look at yourself. No matter what you are feeling, no matter how small or
unworthy you feel, how does your Beloved perceive you? No judgement, unfettered love.  Move back into your own form and watch her again. If you feel like it, you can stay like this, move back and forth several time between the forms. Start perceiving yourself through the eyes of the unlimited.

5. Now bring your attention to the space between you and your Beloved. You may notice a semi-transparent wall consisting of  various forms. These forms represent your fears, inhibitions, beliefs and limitations that keep you from experience union with your unlimited unconscious. Start to offer her anything you see here, like in stage 3. If your beloved starts clearing things on her own, allow her to do so. When things are cleared, other things may appear and take their place. This is normal; another layer to be surrendered. As the wall is cleared, you may notice your Beloved coming closer to you. If this doesn't happen yet, just keep working on the wall. After a while her form may come so close that her legs will start to
blend with yours. This can feel very blissful. Keep clearing the wall. She may come so close that your faces are almost touching. Enjoy the moment of looking deeply into your Beloved's eyes. What do you see there? They are the eyes into infinity. Let the experience come to life. Feel the breath from her lips. As the last of the wall is removed, let her form merge completely with your own. This may happen in different ways, and you must discover what it is like for you, because it is intimacy deeper than any other.

Some suggestions and recommendations:

* Once you have met him or her, you can often create the connection easier by remembering or visualizing a specific feature or quality that attracts your attention.  My first experience of my Divine Beloved was that of bare feet with anklets and bells. All that is usually needed now is to  bring myself to that image, and the rest happens spontaneously. The anklets with bells are always there, even though the rest of her may appear differently at times.

* Feeling is essential. Connecting with and working with your DB is not an intellectual process. The more intense the feeling, the deeper the connection. It is Bhakti, devotion. In Bhakti, the more devotion you give your Beloved, the more flows back to you.

* Do you have a song or mantra that reminds you of your DB?  Play or sing it before the connection. In fact, if you have a playlist of songs, you can play it during the whole meditation. It may deepen it. Experiment for yourself and find out what works. If you are open to it, her or she will be more than happy to tell you what works best, and whatever it is will give you intense bliss.

* Allow yourself spontaneous expression. Let yourself cry, laugh or even start running around dancing if you feel like it. What truly matters is your joy, your devotion.

* Focusing on your Divine Beloved may manifest darker aspects of your unconscious, like the Shadow. If this happens, it's important to stay a witness to whatever happens. If it becomes too intense, stop the practice for a while. Then work on grounding for some time, give yourself space to become clear and calm before trying again.

Mystress, if you think it needs some adjustments, go ahead and change whatever is needed!

I had an idea of making a voice recording, but I'm wondering if my voice used in this type of meditation could result in too much karma flowing my way.

Anway, enjoy this gift from Goddess!

Namaste!
