I do not understand unity consciousness. I am about to give up on it too. I have tried for so long.
I can explain why I don't think we are one in so many ways I don't even know where to begin. I started off listing some of the reasons why I thought we were seperate but I thought it would be to much so I stopped and decided on this more simplistic argument:
Mystress said to me that "there is only one". What about entities and souls? Their very definition, implies that they are seperate.

In my teens I used to perceive it like this: We are all united in one common centre, a core to which we are all connected from the surface down. Above the surface is the world of forms in which we live. But rather soon, I think, I turned the whole image inside out: We are all living on the inner surface of a sphere surrounded by %ldquothe one%rdquo, and the world of forms is what is inside the sphere. Today I don%rsquot use these images so much: I rather perceive everything as %ldquothe one%rdquo; there is no outside %ldquothe one%rdquo, nor any separated bubble inside %ldquothe one%rdquo. %ldquoThe one%rdquo is simply everywhere and is all that is.
: Hello,
: I do not understand unity consciousness. I am about to give up on it too. I have tried for so long.
: I can explain why I don't think we are one in so many ways I don't even know where to begin. I started off listing some of the reasons why I thought we were seperate but I thought it would be to much so I stopped and decided on this more simplistic argument:
: Mystress said to me that "there is only one". What about entities and souls? Their very definition, implies that they are seperate.

Two different beings are not one being, plain and simple.
The stuff that defines the "me", that which makes me distuinguishable from another, is different from that which makes another distinguishable from me. Therefore, we are seperate by the definitions of ourselves.

: This is rather funny. For me it is the other way round! I have always %ndash or at least since my teens %ndash been convinced that we are all one and united. As I see it, we are all just different manifestations or reflections of %ldquothe one%rdquo.
Understand it in terms of chakra levels. Look at it from the power chakra and lower, it is obvious that we are all invidividual. Look at it from the heart and higher, and it is obvious we are all One.
You have been thinking too much, and closed the chakras that can see nonduality. What you focus on, will grow. Focus on persuading yourself of duality and you won't be able to see into the realms of non-duality.
Blessings...
: But that is only a matter of speaking. I could logically choose another opinion that implied that we were all seperate and it would be as valid as the one you have presented. Actually my own opinion in my mind is more accurate.

Mystress I will do this!
I have been considering the difference between the upper and the lower chakras. In setting up a belief system, I have chosen only to believe in those things which are true in all chakras. Thats why I havn't accepted it yet. But I will surrender all of this.

I think that people are trying to describe something they see and they aren't doing it properly within the confines of language. That was my insight, from what chakra it came from I don't know!
"we are all one being".
In one sense, you can describe a being as the individual soul. But in another sense, on an entirely different level, you can describe all that is as a being. These two uses of the word "being" should not be confused with one another.
