As I stated in my intro post I attended a Kundalini Awakening Seminar several months ago. One of the things that happened after that was a wonderful dream I had involving a spider that was so beautiful. Like no real spider I had ever seen. The spider in my dream was almost like a cartoon...it was a beautiful shiny gold color with VERY long legs and for some reason I knew it was a female. The spider bowed to me and told me "welcome". When I woke up I felt so good, not really knowing why but I have thought about this dream often since.
A strange occurance happened last night when I arrived home in the dark, fumbling for keys to open my door, I felt something plop down onto my head. I brushed my hand through my hair thinking it was a bug or big leaf and while I was still fumbling to get the door open, I felt something crawling down my face and neck. Then I felt something BITE MY NECK!
By now I am frantically wiping this thing off me, opening the door, turning on the light and low and behold it was a brown spider at my feet that had fallen down. I made sure it was not a poisonous one and that I was okay (no marks, etc.)
I usually hate spiders, looking at them or getting near them or their webs but since that dream, I have not been this way.
Is there a connection? I don't know, but I know there is some symbolism involving spiders. Anybody have any thoughts?
Great dream about the spider :) I have dreamt alot about spiders but sofar no golden ones. I do not know much about the symbolism of spiders, but the spiders in my dreams are usually some of my mothers fears who lives in me.. and her. I even had a dream where i caught a big one in a magic hoover.. i was so proud and happy about it and showed it to my mother asking if she wanted to see that amazing spider.. she didnt ;) But somehow your golden spider appears to be more of a guide character.. as Scott mentioned. Just wanted to give you another angle of understanding.. maybe one can recieve positive things from a mother to and this is what it repressents?
I like the spiders i have in my house, but i am very happy that they are not big enough to attack me :)
Blessings
Tommy
: Thanks to Scott and Noco for responding to my introductory post. I am motivated to follow Mystress's advice and take the course step by step. I'm on Lesson 3 right now. I also wanted to try and post occasionally to contribute by sharing my experiences along the way.

The 3rd time this happened to me, there were other smaller spiders all over the ceiling. They all disapeared after my frantic search. They were like shadow spiders. When this first happened, I thought, oh well, I must have been sleeping. But, I KNOW I was awake and that it was real. I'm just not sure what to make of it. I have always been afraid of spiders, but lately have grown sort of fond of them. I won't kill them anymore and won't let my husband kill them either.
I think there is something about the meaning of spiders in Native American Indian stories. I'll have to look it up again. It is a good thing!

Yes, it is a Goddess symbol. Grandmother Spider spins the web of the world. On the etheric level energy takes the form of webs and grids.
