My excitement leads me to draw this line in the sand. I consistently seem to block my breathing. For almost a year I took it to a hard place... and then one day in desperation when I had flung myself on my counter hard and lay there, I found I finally could breathe fully again. By holding my weight entirely with my arms and back I had taken away all the tension from my diaphragm. I laughed and giggled insanely.
Since then this healing goes slowish. I _want_ to lay a holy fit about "why this chakra", "why this area", why why why... This Saturday I did an extensive pho-wa movement through the chakras and here I found myself, literally not breathing, feeling not liveable, feeling just cut in two. It's not pleasant! (Why me... why why why... blagh... victim stuff)...
Does anyone have insight and practices here? Has anyone felt this experience themselves? It's different from an asthmatic breath - this is clearly, to me, a cutting in two of my body, an absolute removal and inaccessability of all that comes below the line.... (I'm curious now if maybe having no torso, belly, legs, and butt was my body's wisdom at some point.... *shiver* )
I do look forward to sharing this space with everyone.
And now by this post, I set the groundwork too to look back on it and smile... Lovingly, Sandra

Since the time I posted too I went to a Chi Kung class. There's a smushed part of my spine that I'm kind of incorrectly healed around. It's like my breathing in energy is thrown in some wacky curve... In the class once enough Earth energy was coming up, I focused on just breathing into that area I imagine I'd been avoiding, and I quickly zoomed out (like got to a "cooked" part with the energy work). I had to leave the class early all trembly and riding a wave of energy. I have the feeling there's this HUGEness in me wanting to come through this chakra area...
Whew.
: Have you read what Mystress has written about the power chakra at the kundalini teacher site? I found that very helpful. There is also a breathing exercise, which had a surprisingly strong effect on me (although I have a different problem, more related to the diaphragm area as such).

Did not feel like time to respond to your post before, though I did read it days ago. I felt that the larger part of it was beyond my realm of expertise ie: it was mostly physical and a more conventional type of healing was required. Power chakra blockages by themselves don't take that bent guppy shape... I knew Goddess would provide.
Even so: that cut in half sensation is partly due to an energy blockage. A barrier you put up when you were younger. I find these a lot, but usually the people who have them are not aware of them till they notice feeling better when it is gone! They don't make guppies. They do sometimes restrict breathing a bit. Feels like you have a tight corset on and cannot take a full breath into the bottom of the ribs.
Generally, it is a side effect of a decision to be rational instead of emotional; to make decisions with the head instead of the heart. The either/or decision to separate the two creates a horizontal barrier between the chakras that looks like cut in half. They go easy, just give it up to Goddess.
Blessings...
: Thanks for link Vyana. I just read it now - and noted the parts that 'sting' - i.e., seemed relevant to me and my power issues. =/
