Title: Grounding - what's next?
Post by: Vyana on Mar 14, 2005, 12:32:40 AM
Probably I have just missed something important. But, tomorrow I will (I hope) have been doing the grounding exercise eight times a day for 45 days (or actually, one day, when I was on vacation, it was only seven, but I hope that does not matter much?). What should I do then? Just drop it? Use it just when I feel I need it?

Dear Vyana

I would like to thank you so much for this post.
Mystress I'm sure, will be able to give you an answer suited to your personal requirements.

But this triggered so much for me.
The grounding is an on going practise.
Its important to stay grounded.
When I'm not grounded I try to change or control what is not mine to control.
when I'm not grounded I get overwhelmed, confused and frightened.
When I'm not grounded I'm in my head, rather than fully here.

I do weird things. I agree to things before I'm ready, force stituations that would other wise be fine and find myself in a right pickle.

Big learning curve, and I'm only on the first bit!

I'm now off to do a ton of grounding and to thank my lucky stars that goddess is here.

good luck Vyana

Namaste
Squirell

Dear Vyana, Squirell!
For me the grounding meditation is constant. I do it several times a day still, taking time to do it thoroughly and then throughout the day I check if I am grounded whenever it occurs to me (which is often)

It always brings up in me what aspect that is -not- grounded at the moment so I can work with it.

If you read my little interaction with Mystress in that other thread you can see how. ;)

Love
Gustaf

Thank you Squirell and Gustaf for your support! Today something strange happened. It was right before a very demanding situation and I had been somewhat nervous before. Therefore, I did the grounding exercise once every hour and did it the seventh time right before the event at 13.00. I felt fine, but I thought I just do it once more to be sure. But then, when I brought down a lot of energy from the sun, my nervousity came forth, mainly as a pressure over my chest. It did not last for long, but I had not expected the grounding have that effect, as it most often makes me feel fine.

Yup! The goal is to establish a habit of being grounded, to be grounded all the time. Keep at it!

OK, but would 4 or 6 times a day be enough?

Is it? How many times a day do you become ungrounded? That number, +1 more, is how many times you need to get grounded again.
