I am very drawn to the grouding exercise. I have a question though. I find that when I do the practice I will come across areas in which I have a hard time sweeping through, areas in which my attention seems to "spin off", and areas in which my attention seems to want to go up. These areas are mainly in my head and neck area.
Does one just continue to sweep gently through these areas?
Also, in regards to the ringing in my eft ear. My autonomous nervous system has really attached itself to the ringing and has turned it into something threating, even though intellectually that isn't neccessarily the case. It seems like the practice makes these sounds louder.
Kundalini makes the body vibrate. It also makes the small bones inside the ear vibrate. That's why your ears ring. It is completely normal and nothing to worry about. Of course, when you are grounding the earth energy is kundalini shakti, so yes your ears might ring more. Some people like to meditate on the sound.
You are a little ahead of the lessons, discovering that grounding can be used to locate blockages in your energy body. The lesson to learn to release them is a bit further ahead but you can get a little jump start with the karma section on Kundalini teacher.

Itzak Bentov is a physicist who proved the existence of kundalini. His little book, "Stalking the Wild Pendulum" is recommended reading and can be found online, for free if you search.
