Hello, I often read that the heart chakra is associated with pink and green. Does the color matter when meditating or visualizing? Or is each color associated with a different aspect or is used for specific purposes?

From my understanding, the heart is usually associated with green. Pink or gold are also sometimes seen. It just depends on the person and what qualities they have.
It is your third eye that can pick up what colour a person is emanating from the Heart.
This subject is pretty deep, and I am probably not qualified to go into it so much.
There are some good books on the subject though.
I think Mystress has some recommendations in the course material.
